I don't really get what they're doing. Roster is looking rough right now.

Mamu for instance is not a starting quality player, probably not even a real playoff rotation guy on a contending team, and they just handed him over $10 million a year.

Stretch big. Gives them a totally different look with Kessler off the floor and can play with him as well

The current NBA salary cap blows my mind. I remember when the big 3 in Miami all made in the 20’s annually and that was a big deal cause people said they wouldn’t be able to fill out the roster

Like how does Boston have any money at all to spend with both the Tatum and Brown deals on the books?

If they really trot this lineup out, CNN would melt down.

The Lakers bench at least is a little more fleshed out.

If they all stay healthy it could work out but non of these dudes are really defenders other than Kessler.

Giving up multiple unprotected first round picks for the privilege of paying that deal seems absolutely wild

For Kessler too. I know the C spot is a massive need but sheesh.

They’re not winning a championship next year with Kessler or if they signed/traded for a much cheaper stopgap. I don’t get those saying they had no choice, of course they did

Yeah I get the concept I just don't think Mamu is very good and their roster construction is really weird. According to stuff I'm seeing online from Lakers sites they are now hard capped at the first apron and have zero cap room left. They can now only give out vet minimums, so their roster is basically set.

They have zero perimeter defenders and this is their entire depth chart at the 3/4:

Jake Laravia
Jared Vanderbilt
Mamu
Adou Thiero
Rookie Cameron Carr

That is....not good for a team with almost no trade assets left and hopes of competing.

Lakers really botched this summer. No point of attack defender is just a hard pill to swallow

On the brightside the NAACP might have Pelinka assassinated

Also when Luka forces his way out at least we will be able to recoup a lot of these assets but still lmao

What an odd way to go about making a team
