i actually like that fit for Dwight. He's got years of experience in the league that could help the younger players and at the same time it may give him a fresh start with having a younger cast around him.

I think that would be an interesting addition to that team. I really like what Boston is doing with Stevens at the helm, even if a lot didn't like the Jaylen pick (I'm a fan of it)

Portland and Boston make a lot of sense for Dwight, think he could do well in both

He fits perfect with that group and he isn't a head case. Don't believe everything you read on the message boards.
I think Howard to Boston is a great fit for both sides and is the type of FA they should be after. Hope it happens. I think that group will look up to him.

Dwight back in the East is good for the league.
Putting him with a bunch of young guys will make him feel needed again. That's been his problem. He's used to being needed and being liked by everyone. He wasn't needed or liked since he left Orlando.
He also hasn't been healthy though so who knows.

Judging by all the responses I guess I'm the only one who thinks its not a good fit
If he ever accepts his role as a rim protecting defensive anchor and stops trying to be some offensive force, then yeah I think it'd be a good fit. Maybe headcase was the wrong word to use, but his tantrums and child-like antics don't come off well and he doesn't seem to be a leader in my eyes. A veteran leader is what Boston needs and I don't see Dwight providing that.

I've never seen him have a tantrum.
I think you could say he doesn't seem to take the game seriously but I don't even really believe that. I just think a defense mechanism for him is to laugh things off rather than get angry. I have a friend that's the same way.
He has proven he can be a force that can lead a team deep into the playoffs. He likely does need to be on a team where he's the biggest personality, and ATL and Boston are two teams that really mirror what he had in Orlando in that respect. That's not the most flattering thing to say about a player but it is what it is.

Now reports are saying Durant may want a long-term deal after all according to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders
LINK
Maybe Durant will make this offseason more interesting after all

How much more will he get next year? Might not be worth the risk of waiting for a big man with a previous foot injury. Not saying he should, just a thought

Holy shite, that's a lot of money to leave on the table.

But yea, if he's going to leave OKC(or stay for that matter), I'd be absolutely shocked as to why he wouldn't take the 1 year deal first. If so, I'd like to hear his reasoning.

The only thing I can think of is maybe he's afraid he will re-injure the foot again and doesn't want to risk it

Like that article basically said , you got to think that being a free agent/impending free agent is such a grind with all the phone calls and what not you get. I know there's going to be the "Well he makes $25+ million a year, he just has to deal with it" crowd, but I think anyone would get beyond irritated if they were in his shoes, regardless of what he makes

If Dean freaking Blevins ends up being right lol...
Posted on 6/29/16 at 11:37 am to okietiger
Dean Blevins is usually right. He and Chris Lincoln somehow get scoops, I do not know why they do either.
