quote:Assuming there's sufficient intel that Kawhi is healthy and will be normal Kawhi going forward and willing to sign that extension, that seems like a fair trade for both sides.
The package that the Lakers and Spurs would consider "the line" is Ingram, Kuzma, and two first round picks. More and it's too much for the Lakers, but less and it's not enough for San Antonio.

That would be a haul. Wow.
Depends on how you look at it from the Lakers point of view.
Would you trade Kuzma and a future 1st for Lebron? I know I would
And
Would you trade Ingram and a future 1st for Kawhi? Again, all day everyday
Because you would make both of those trades to get both of those players

San Antonio has informed teams its preferred target in any Leonard trade is the Celtics' Jayson Tatum, sources say. Teams have noted this is likely a negotiating tactic, and it’s widely believed in league circles Boston is more likely to propose a deal centered around Kyrie Irving and future picks. But based on previous behavior, the Celtics are unlikely to overpay for Leonard.

Philadelphia’s internal discussions have focused on potential trade packages offering various young players and future draft selections. One team source says preliminary discussions with San Antonio revealed the Spurs have strong interest in a package involving burgeoning forwards Dario Saric and Robert Covington as well as a future first-round pick. A potential, more serious offer that Philadelphia is weighing internally includes Saric and Covington and the 2021 Miami Heat unprotected first-round pick the Sixers obtained in their draft-night deal with the Phoenix Suns.

Looks like Magic is about to happen in LA
Word is starting to leak that Spurs are now "Intrigued" with Lakers latest offer for Kawhi and this could get done soon

That's like me walking into an interview and saying, "my ideal salary is 1 million dollars". Your ideal target doesn't matter here Spurs, you don't have the leverage to get that. If Kawhi was healthy this entire season, that would be one thing, but he wasn't.

Ingram
Kuzma
Pick
Is better than
Saric
Covington
Pick
IMO

its a lot better. covington and saric are interesting, but ingram alone is better imo

What it what look like between Lakers, Lebron, and Kawhi fans if they decide to team up in LA

Lowe just replied to this on Twitter saying that this was speculation, if he was the Lakers that would be the line for him.

If that pick from the Sixers is that Unprotected heat pick it gets it closer. I still like the Lakers package though because I’ve always liked Ingram

if that offer was on the table than this would be over with imo
lakers are probably saying kuzma or ingram and a future first. but not both. spurs are saying they want both and the pick. i bet its one or the other, the future pick, and like hart or something. thats something i can see san antonio accepting after whiffing on boston and looking at the philly offer. and the lakers get to keep either kuzma or ingram

To me, the trade is about getting someone back who can be a future star. Covington and Kuz are throw ins (good role players for sure though). It's really about Saric vs Ingram, and Ingram has the edge. Saric has potential too though.
IMO, the picks are "throw ins", too. Who knows how good Miami is going to be in 2021, it's too far out to really value it as much.

If the trade is with the Lakers I don't see any way that Ingram is left out of it. I wouldn't accept anything less than Ingram, if I was the Spurs. The picks don't matter as much as him.

absolutely
ingram, hart, 2019 first....they can trade that now right? or do they have to wait for july 6th? if no than the 2020 first
thats my guess in where this ends up

If I was the Lakers, I would do both and the pick, especially for the right pick.
If they think they have Leonard, LeBron and PG, the Lakers own firsts are gonna be #25 and above for 2-3 years. I wouldn't let that be the tipping point.
It would hurt to lose Ingram, but Kuzma and a low first aren't really blows.

Depends on how you look at it from the Lakers point of view.
I imagine Lebron and Kawhi would stick around for as long as they're welcome.
