I really hope he can stay healthy. He has everything to be an awesome player.

Wizards sign both Howard and Green.

Notable potential FA next year:
Kawhi
Kyrie
Love
M Gasol
Butler
Klay - probably GS
Dragic
Kemba
Cousins
Vucevic
Middleton
Bledsoe
Horford - will probably opt in
Tobias
Redick
Randle
That's why, if I was the Lakers, my offer for Kawhi would be virtually zilch at this point. They have a ton of cap space in 2019 when the 1 year contracts clear and Deng becones very tradeable.
Even if they miss on Kawhi, there are a lot of other stars to fill the void, unlike this year where it was PG and no backup. Why dump a young asset for him now unless SA gives you a killer deal?

This was a fair deal to say the least, Did Demarcus expect he was getting the max? Or did his agent gas him up resulting in a knee jerk reaction

The New York Times' Marc Stein reported Cousins turned down a two-year, $40 million deal from the New Orleans Pelicans. The offer came during the 2017-18 season after Cousins suffered a torn Achilles.

Agree with all of this. If they make a trade for Kawhi now, they would have to stretch Deng and I would really hate to have that dead money using up space for the next few years.
Next summer, if the Lakers can move Deng without taking any money back, they will have about $45-$50 million in cap space with Lebron, Ingram, Lonzo, Kuzma, Hart, and Wagner under contract.

2/40 is more than what he's worth at this point and the dumbass still turned it down.
It boggles my mind that Cousins is so petulant that he will piss away tens of millions of dollars to spite a team.

Why are they even still talking about this? There's no point if this is what the spurs keep harping on

Yeah, plus as loaded as the Warriors are, there really isn't a realistic way for the Lakers to be competitive (even with a trade for Kawhi) in 18-19.

Devin Booker is no longer mad now?
Posted on 7/3/18 at 6:33 pm to David Ricky
Yea Pop can frick right off with all of that.

Dude, he was never really mad. He was slightly upset because they didn't tell him when it was official. He wanted to win and the Ulis move is going to help do that. It was a total non story.
There was no way he was turning down this money.

Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns are progressing toward finalizing a 5-year, $158M maximum contract extension as soon as the weekend, league sources tell ESPN. Suns presented the offer to Booker in Los Angeles today.
SECURE THE BAG, DEVIN

Good luck with that. They ain't getting half of that. Kawhi is going to walk on them and they act like they have 3x the leverage they do.

Did Shams really say LeBron to the Lakers makes Kawhi consider the Clippers more on the Herd?
