Trading Wilson Chandler to Philadelphia will save Denver $50M in combined salary and luxury tax. The Nuggets tax bill now drops from $51.3M to $14.3M. The $12.8M Chandler contract can be traded immediately without any restrictions because Philadelphia acquired him with room.

I think they are still about 10 mil over. So, they'll probably try to dump another one of their players. Faried, or Arthur maybe.

Keith Smith @KeithSmithNBA Sounds like there is some level of mutual interest between the Orlando Magic and free agent guard Isaiah Thomas. Dance is around money, but it would almost assuredly be a one-year deal.

Is this the most 1 year deals in FA history?
Ridiculous.
Ridiculous.

I was looking at a list of the free agent signings from 2016 and holy shite, its worse than I remembered. The non-superstar players that hit free agency this summer have to be so pissed.
Mozgov 4/$64
Parsons 4/$94
Evan Turner 4/$70
Batum 5/$120
Deng 4/$72
Jon Leuer 4/$42
Biyombo 4/$72
Anderson 4/$80
Mahinmi 4/$64
Tyler Johnson 4/$50

The Philadelphia 76ers are in close discussions on deal to acquire Denver Nuggets forward Wilson Chandler, league sources tell Yahoo.
Sucks that this is the best they could do with their cap space. Really nobody left out there at this point though. Too bad Ariza signed early.

That summer literally fricked the NBA.
All of the restricted free agents right now can thank that summer for the lack of offers right now and it's why KD went to the warriors and it's why guys like Ed Davis sign for $4.4 million and Nerlens Noel signs for the league minimum. It's why the Rockets cant get rid of Ryan Anderson and why the Blazers cant get rid of Meyers Leonard or Evan Turner, Lakers Deng, etc.
Everyone is capped out. Doesn't give much room to take risks.

Dwight Howard has finalized a buyout with the Brooklyn Nets and will sign a 1-year deal for the tax MLE with the Washington Wizards once he clears waivers, league sources tell The Athletic.

I guess teams are scared after 2016, but it just seems odd since the 2019 FA is weak. The only real FA there looks to be is Jimmy Butler at this point and maybe Klay if the Warriors get tired of paying that much money year in, year out. KAT and Porzingod are going nowhere

If they can stay healthy, that's a pretty solid team they have

So they run Gortat out of town due to bad chemistry and the replacement is Dwight?

I think Gortat and Wall specifically had a beef.

And I think Wall and Howard are buds too, plus Howard is the better of the two

Kawhi, KD, Kyrie, Cousins are all poised to be FA as well. Kemba too. Just off top of my head.

Utah Jazz restricted free agent Dante Exum has agreed to a three-year, $33M contract extension, league sources tell ESPN.

Something about the Wizards has always felt off. The results have never matched the talent level, which is kind of Dwight’s MO, so I guess he fits

Notable potential FA next year:
Kawhi
Kyrie
Love
M Gasol
Butler
Klay - probably GS
Dragic
Kemba
Cousins
Vucevic
Middleton
Bledsoe
Horford - will probably opt in
Tobias
Redick
Randle
I like Utah's backcourt. Mitchell, Exum, Rubio, and Allen is a good group. I wish Exum could stay healthy for once. He could be an elite defender.
