Well yeah because Lebron won't allow it.

But Rondo is a superior player in nearly every aspect. They're both bad shooters from midrange and beyond.

Wasn't kyrie like 38% from 3 last year?

35.8%. Rondo's piss poor from 3 but he doesn't shoot from there either. Rondo has better shot selection.

Irving is a career 38% three point shooter on 4.5 attempts per game. That's pretty good. I think he fits better next to LeBron, than Rondo. Rondo is best with the ball in his hands, but so is LeBron. Irving is at least a good enough shooter to be effective off of the ball.

If I could get Rondo and Love without giving up Wiggins, I'd do it in a heartbeat

This is my thinking as well. I tweeted Zach Lowe. He says the flaw in my plan is that the Cavs couldn't resign Andi until a year passed after being bought out. That might not be the worst thing for Andi with his injury history. Get fully healed and paid, come back next year strong.

He didn't mention this, but I also think they'd have to wait a while since the Kyrie extension was signed. Still though, I love this deal. No one is scoring on a back court of Rondo/Wiggins/Lebron. No one. Every rebound is going the other way. When LeBron is out, you just let Rondo do Rondo things. I doubt this trade would get done, but my god, i'd do it in a cocaine heartbeat for all teams involved.

Lakers have a coach yet or no? Obviously, it's going to be a tanking season, but man... that roster tho. Good God.... Looks like another year of Clippers domination in the Staples center.

Zach Lowe is the man. He's very approachable on twitter. I've had few conversations with him on there.

I don't think Boston would do that but it makes sense for the Wolves and Cavs

Under normal circumstances I agree with you, they shouldn't. But they are looking to dump Rondo. They know he won't resign long term for this rebuild and they're looking for assets. I think their first option was to get Love, but that's not going to happen. So I don't think dumping Rondo for Waiters, Bennett and 2 number 1's is a bad get for Rondo. Then you're rocking with a future of Smart, Waiters, Bradley and a warchest of Brooklyn, Cleveland, Miami and your own number 1 picks. They'd own the 1st round the next few years. I'm not a huge fan of Smart or Waiters, but they are assets and that's all Boston cares about right now

Agree. Love Zach Lowe. He writes about Basketball is a way that is entertaining and educational without being too off the wall like Simmons(even though I love Simmons) or too intimidatingly basketball nerdy like....a ton of writers.

Minnesota is committed to Ricky Rubio. They probably have no interested in Irving.

Didn't they have like 8 PGs when they drafted Rubio and Flynn?

That was the stupidest draft I've ever seen. They could have walked away with DeRozan, Curry, and Lawson...

They actually drafted Rubio, Flynn, and Lawson, then decided to trade the best of the three away.

Yeah, David Kahn is an idiot. Most of those pgs are gone but then they just drafted Lavine who plays both the 1 and 2. I just don't see how Minnesota is in any way interested in Irving.

That would be very Minnesota of them. Kyrie is now locked up for the next 6 years. He is an all-star. I think he and Rubio could play together. Personally I obviously like Wiggins' potential on the Cavs more than keeping Kyrie(especially in this deal where they get an all-star point back) but for Minnesota, the opportunity to lock down a legit all star for 6 years is better than any deal they will get
