Ok not really sure I understand it either. They really don't have much offense on the team now. Howard is pretty good offensively, Harden is good, Ariza is a decent/good shooter, Jones is meh, Beverly is meh. Not much bench to speak of.

I live in Houston and follow them. Not a fan but an observer. I went to a couple of games. Casspi was a nice player in Sac but he didn't do anything for the rockets.
I have to think the rockets get active in the trade market. They can't just stand pat with ariza only.

Do you think he's better suited as a 3, which he played for the majority of his time leading up to his tenure in HOU, or as the 4 that he played for the rockets

Casspi? He isn't quick enough to guard 3s and he isn't strong enough to guard most 4s. He is tough and he won't back down from anyone.
He is a pro, good locker room guy, will do his job and give you 15 mins on your second team. For his salary slot that is all you want any way.

Perfect guy for a youngish locker room like NOLA. He is a pro's pro. Sometimes that alone makes a guy valuable.
