We are fans of rivaling teams, of course we are each going to say our guys are better. That said, I would trade AD for no one but LBJ and KD. Hes fringe top 5-10 now and hes 21.

Boom claims you have to lead your team to the playoffs to be considered top 10
Nope never said that, just that I'd have a really hard time putting someone in my top 10 who had never lead a team to the playoffs.

improving the team through smaller upgrades as a plan B
i don't think the team improved. i think it stayed the same. you lost a backup center and gained (potentially) a backup SF. and you're paying 15x more for Parsons than you did last year.
having 2 SFs at a combined 22+ mil a year is as bad as the Pels having two SGs at 25 mil

I agree with this... Pels fans need to give it up.

Our D has more to do with monty than the players.

Secondly, Asik played about 15 minutes a game, if that.
Ariza can back-up multiple positions, so he will get about 30 minutes a game... roughly starters minutes. So his impact will be greater.
And one last point about the salary. The Rockets can go over the cap on that $22 million. Pelicans can't with their $25 million. So the Pelicans are squeezed more.

If you're talking about 2010/11:
They had a lot of veterans that were good at D(Oak/Ariza/CP3(when he was around)
He was decent at first but his awful rotations have really shown the past 2 years.
He was renowned as a D coach but is actually pretty poor.

Being a 'defensive minded coach' and succeeding as one are two vastly different things.

One thing that I've noticed is that most of the Rockets fans here don't say that our guys are better just because they play for Houston. Pels fan, especially when it comes to Davis and any HOU players, don't evaluate players with the same lack of bias that myself and my Rockets brethren do.

Just renounced by PHX maybe he wants to come home to Houston and play with Ariza and back up Dwight.

So 2010 the players were good on D. 2014 the players are not good on D. This much we know.
A great rim protector can single-handedly lift a team defensively. The stats do not show that with Davis.

If y'all get Asik, then for sure the Pelicans will see a huge leap up the defensive rankings.

Please tell me you aren't one of those "clutch fans", who are saying that Houston should renege on the Asik deal.
