They are a perennial contender. With the best offensive player in the league. In his prime. They are the favorite to win the title this season whether they get butler or not.
Right now, they're a team that didn't make the WCF last year and is weaker than last year.
They need upgrades this offseason badly. CP3 is chained to them, so it's what they can do with the remainder of the roster.

@TheSteinLine The Rockets believe they have a trade partner for Clint Capela but do not intend to deal Capela unless they are sure they can acquire marquee Sixers free agent Jimmy Butler, according to a source briefed on Houston's thinking

They can be weaker than last year and still be the best team in the conference. The gap between them and everyone but GOAT was, and is, cavernous.
and lol at them being “weaker” than last year whenever they haven’t even made a single move yet and all signs point to harden being even better this coming year than he was last year.

Sources: Golden State is planning to offer All-Star Klay Thompson a 5-year, $190M maximum contract when free agency opens Sunday at 6 PM ET --- which is expected to accelerate process of GM Bob Myers and Thompson’s agent, Greg Lawrence, quickly reaching formal agreement.

Idk if you know how this works but if 1 team gets weaker than other teams get stronger. Logically if GSW got worse and Houston got worse and 4 other teams got better, how tf are they closer in your eyes to being the best???

These guys are professionals. Clint knows he was subpar. He would love the chance to run it back. I would love for him to get the chance to run it back too. I am a big fan of Clint.

there has not been even one team in the west who could force Houston to a 6 game in the last two seasons It is more than safe to say that even if other teams get better Houston is still way ahead of everyone else. Until proven otherwise.

I’m told that the Orlando Magic are expected to get a deal done with free agent C Nikola Vucevic, sources say. The sides have had contract negotiations and are close to an agreement.

GSW took them to game 6 not even two months ago

B I'll hold off til we know about Butler but if they don't land him I'll have a bet coming your way. Even if they land him let me take a look at that bench and I'll get back to you.

Only betting posters who send the money before hand going forward. There is a poster who lost a bet who didn’t pay, he ruin it for everyone else.

The pels culture has a lot to do with Davis never developing even a smidgeon of leadership as well as the constant injuries. It was a losing culture.
Yeah, too bad we didn't have any of that winning and then choking in the playoffs every year culture like Houston
Posted on 6/28/19 at 2:17 pm to BeeFense5
I'm trying to figure out how they didnt make the WCF this year but they're getting better
Posted on 6/28/19 at 2:18 pm to Boomshockalocka
So they're 0-2 in game 7's in the last two seasons?
Posted on 6/28/19 at 2:20 pm to RebelTheBear
Getting lectured on losing cultures by the biggest choke artists in the league is laughable. That takes zero self awareness.
Posted on 6/28/19 at 2:22 pm to BeeFense5
Pels have been a losing org there is no denying that hopefully David can change that. But as of late, the last few years it is inarguably that they have been losers and that has permeated throughout the org. No veteran leadership has lead to Davis not developing off the court at all, players always injured bc there is no harden/lebron level player to hold them accountable. Etx etx. Huge lack of winning veteran presences in that building.
