If they get Kawhi they won't even be able to field a starting 5, let alone any depth. The Lakers to ship foregone conclusion even if they get Kawhi is reaching.

He was projected to get more than the vet min.

It’s the gift that keeps on giving. I haven’t tracked their cap space at all, so just when I think they have to be done something like Elf Payton for 2/16 comes across.
It’s going to be mid August and I’m gonna get an alert they signed Wes Johnson to a 2/15 deal and not be surprised at this point
Jabari Parker and Kelly Oubre to finish it off

I haven’t been following. What’s up with jimmy butler? I thought he was Houston bound.

Aww shite. Here we go again

I’m one to hate the Lakers but you have to acknowledge that that trio is something serious. Barring injury they'll be there in the mix

His play earned him a vet minimum. That's about how good he played, vet minimum level good.
For example:
Austin Rivers
Status: Unrestricted; 2018-19 Salary: $1.15 million; Projected contract: 3 years, $21 million
Back in 2011, it was assumed that Rivers was a future All-Star – and rightfully so. Rivers was ranked as high as the best overall prospect for his high school class. Fast forward to Saturday night and no one would blame you for assuming that premonition came true based solely on that night’s performance. In reality, it’s been a far bumpier ride through Rivers’ first seven seasons.
But Rivers could be righting the ship right in front of our eyes. Rivers has performed well through his first seven playoff games this year, averaging 7.6 points in just under 20 minutes per game on an effective field goal percentage of 62.5. He’s had a few very good games, including this past Saturday, when he shot 2-for-4 from three and held Steph Curry in check the entire night. Basketball Insider’s writer Matt John covered Rivers’ importance to the Rockets’ postseason run earlier this week, and many in the media have said the series could have easily been 2-1 in favor of the Rockers if Rivers hadn’t come down with the flu in late April. Regardless of your thoughts on Rivers, it’s clear that he’s due for a significant raise from his current $1.15 million salary.

Because Pinata says so.
But don't think for a second Paul, HardLn and Jimmy Butler would have been one, because you'd be wrong there

Uhh, what? You know how I know you didn’t watch the Rockets this past season?
Why do I have to have watched the Rokits for the entire season to know those stats are gawd awful?
I know Austin Rivers. I saw him hit some timely shots in the playoffs. He seems to play better in bigger spots, which is one of the best things that can be said about a player. But the entire product isn't good.

They think it's bad for the players and their legacy.

According to @RicBucher, he is hearing there is still a good chance that Kawhi stays in Toronto on a 2-Year deal with a player-option for year 2.

Yeah, I’m pretty much conceding the next two titles to the Lakeshow if Kawhi signs there
I’m just hoping they get bored and break up by the time our picks come

Chris Broussard reporting the Lakers are Kawhi’s first choice after speaking with Magic yesterday.

Bucher isn’t very reliable in my opinion.
Posted on 7/1/19 at 12:57 pm to DeionDeion
fwiw Bucher said KD was a lock to go the Knicks
Posted on 7/1/19 at 12:59 pm to TheTexasTiger7
I can't bring myself to give any credibility to Broussard. He has sucked throughout this FA cycle.
ETA: 2 unreliable reporters giving two conflicting reports. I think this goes to show that no one truly knows where Kawhi will go at this point.

Just doing what Lebron did.
Good for Kawhi. Its time Lebron starts to hand over the torch. His time as king is over.
