That ball has been awarded to the offense forever because of that asinine logic. Replay shoes it's almost always out on the offense though. It's so dumb. They only get it right under replay.

These type replay overturns are the dumbest. No ref EVER would call it out on the player holding the ball if someone slapped it out of their hands. But with HD slow mo we see it touched the offensive player’s pinkie on the way out, so out on him.
I don’t like the Lakers or LeBron, so no sour grapes. Just a dumb use of replay. Maybe they should change the rule to be like the TV guy thought it was.

This game is why I think the Clippers would win a series versus the Lakers. They can withstand runs and they’ll be more fresh.

How can you see this and think the way they always call it - the wrong way all the time - is just accepted so it should be the default. That's absurd.
