So the people who actually play the sports bring politics into the game and your response is to blame the fans for being political?

These guys need mental help. I mean every sports viewership is down compared to last year.

Mental help? Someone linking an article discussing NBA viewing is down is something that requires mental help in your eyes?

Your priorities are way out of sorts and you have zero perspective of the world around you.

The Vikings-Saints game overlapping the three main Christmas games — the end of Warriors-Bucks, all of Nets-Celtics and the beginning of Mavericks-Lakers is what really killed the ratings. It would have been a Christmas miracle for the NBA to post a ratings gain, or even just hold steady, given the competition. It should be noted that while the NBA is most identified with Christmas, the NFL has been the highest rated sporting event on every Christmas it has scheduled games this century.

America is in desperate need of a real Christmas sports tradition. NBA isn't it.

I haven’t read thru all the posts, but as a casual NBA fan, they lost me. Everyone already knows who will make the finals. There’s no parity, only super teams. There’s no fun left.

Professional basketball doesn't have the cultural pull to be turned-on television in a large number of white families' homes on Christmas Day, in my view. They went hard with the social justice stuff and aside from Lebron and Steph, I don't think one person at my family's holiday gathering could name one NBA player, at the moment. It's marketed to a certain segment of the population for the most part, and that's fine. I'm certain the NBA is still a huge deal for some, but it's not gonna pull a rating like the NFL would on a holiday. Maybe it's just me, but basketball's never been something my whole family's watched together, especially on Christmas Day.

Hmm, wonder why viewership is down?

You mean how leftists spent four years losing their collective shite over Trump? Even though their lives weren’t negatively impacted by his policies?

Has to be poverty and ignorance. I actually feel bad for them because it must be a miserable life.

This is rich considering a large portion of Democrat voters are impoverished or complete idiots with zero knowledge of the real world.

Sports without fans is boring and everything just seems like a practice game or exhibition.

The NFL can utilize multiple different camera angles, so viewer doesn't really notice the missing fans as much. But with the NBA, it's impossible to not notice since fans are usually right on top the court.

College football loses most of its excitment without the fans, bands, tailgating, etc plus all of the opt outs. This is probably the least amount of college football I have ever watched .

Just curious ... What golfers, for the past year or longer, have been telling you what a racist you are?

Lighting the neighborhood on fire and terrorizing families while chanting loud nonsense is pretty close to the spirit of christmas

Could catch on in some circles

You don’t remember Finau and Varner right after George Floyd?

For what it’s worth, I’ll continue to watch the NBA and the PGA because it’s entertaining.

Who gives a frick what they think? Chances are none of them agree with you on everything
