Read the table posted on this page, this time with a Rockets L, and report back. Let me know if the seedings are the same as you posted. ThxIA.
You missed the original OP, which has since been edited.

The scenario in the OP was if the Rockets and Spurs win, the Spurs get the 2 seed, and the Rockets get the 5th seed. If the Rockets win and Spurs lose, Rockets get the 2nd seed.

The scenario was explaining what happens if the Rockets win.

Then the poster I responded to asked where the Spurs would fall to (assuming the Rockets win, like in the scenario in the OP).

You came into this thread late, and fricked up.

The SW is nuts.

quote:

If the Pelicans prevail, it would mark just the third time in the last 30 seasons in which one division sent all of its teams to the playoffs, with the 2014-15 Southwest Division joining the 1985-86 Midwest and the 2005-06 Central. The Southwest’s composite .635 win percentage in that scenario, according to the Elias Sports Bureau, would be the highest of any division under the current format implemented in 2004-05.

Rockets were in that division and made the Finals that year. Good omen.

Having a hard time working today. Keep seeing Pargo's 3 ball.

Spurs are gonna win the big prize irrespective of seed, so maybe the basketball Gods will throw the Pels a damn bone tonight...

How about the Spurs win and OKC loses. Everybody wins?

NBA was only 23 teams and 16 made the playoffs.

ETA - 6 Sub-.500 teams made it that season

And managed to get a win against an all-time great Celtics team thanks to MJ going off.

But yeah, if you think there are too many teams in the playoff now, imagine how it was when 16 teams got in out of 23 total.
