SAS (2) vs MIN (6) detailed Playoff Series Odds:

- Spurs are 82% favs to win series

- SAS ~76% favs at home, SAS~52% on road

Most Likely Outcomes:
1. Spurs in 5 (27%)
2. Spurs in 4 (21%)
3. Spurs in 7 (16%)
4. Spurs in 6 (16%)

Looks like 5? Don’t think they factored in TWolves stealing game 1.

14.5 was an insane number. Portland sucks and the Spurs only beat them 2/5 times by that amount.

Man IDK about that. They just lost home court and Ant was in his worst physical shape for the series.

I'm not saying it's over by any means, but this reminds me a lot of when Dallas took us out a couple years ago.

Sam Humphreys
@SamHumphreys34

The Wolves just:

Shot 58% from the free throw line.
Had 17 less fast break points.
Got Outrebounded.
Had less paint points.
Had less assists.
And still won.

How?

Wemby was a total non-factor on the offensive end! And give MIN credit for that!
More blocks than points!

1-0 MIN

That look was better than anything they would have gotten after the timeout.

That's why I hesitated, but Joey makes a great point:

quote:

There was 5-6 seconds and they could have inbounded the ball at half court. Get it to Wemby and he’s probably getting fouled or a better look than their worst offensive player shooting a 3.

That’s like the Bulls having a last second shot and Ron Harper takes it instead of MJ or Scottie.

You got the #1 advantage in basketball gotta use him in that situation

Great look for your fifth option or try to get a look for your best one?

True. I always felt this was SAS “experience” year not title year. But win next 2 and back on track. First game jitters vs a team with a pulse.

Not sure Wemby shoots as bad again nor TWolves as good again.

But its why they play the games.

Champagnie is 38% from 3 on the season. He got a wide open look.

Wemby was 5/17 tonight so it’s not like he was dominating offensively. Minny’s defense was phenomenal, especially in the half court.

Who cares? Would you want Michael Jordan taking a GW shot, or Horace Grant. I don’t care if MJ is 5/25, the ball is going to the best player.

Taking a 3, when you are down 2 is also stupid. I mean the Spurs are the better team playing at home. If they just tie it they likely win in OT.

You’re gonna hate to learn about what Steve Kerr and John Paxson did in playoff games.

Wemby is a great player, but do you really think this is a fair comparison here?

As a Spurs fan I don't really mind the the final possession. Spurs offense only worked when they were moving. Calling a timeout would've given Finch a chance to put Rudy in and setup a defense. Wemby and Fox two of our biggest closers clearly didn't have it on offense. Castle fouled out. So the next best players are either Julian, Devin, or Harper. Julian with a wide open look. Can't ask for much better than that.

I'm ok with this game overall. Spurs biggest weakness was on full display which is size and skill at the 3/4. It's the reason why we match up with OKC so well because Hardenstein is a non factor on O and Wemby 200% owns Chet both mentally and physically. Against monsters like Reid and Randle not to mention Gobert our skill on the perimeter defense gets nullified quite a bit and Wemby has to put in a lot more work on D to help the guards out. They are 3 inches taller than us at almost every position and even though we play great defense they can rise up in the midrange at any point which gives them confidence.

Wemby picked a bad time to have his worst offensive game of the season but he more than made up for it on defense. We can't have Both Fox and Wemby being bricklayers. Mitch will have to earn his money if the Spurs are to advance with some adjustments. Carter Bryant although a rookie needs to heal up because his effort on defense and rebounding was surely missed.

I'm already satisfied with the season. If we lose in the second round that'd be disappointing but for your first time in the playoffs you can't ask for much better They need to upgrade things in the off-season which they will do. The future is bright and this experience will only help them get better next year.

Finally, Ant Edwards is the reincarnation of Kobe. Dude is a fricking dog and tough as shite. Guy lives for the 4th quarter and it was such a gutsy performance today. Next to Wemby he's my favorite player to watch and I hate he got injured at the end of the season to ruin his all NBA chances cause he deserves it.

Wemby was shooting arse from 3. Champagnie had a great look and he’s your best (or second best) shooter. Just didn’t go in.

I pretty much only watch playoff basketball these days but that was probably the most entertaining overall game I've seen in at least 5 years. Just goes to show lower scoring defensive games are better In the NBA.

Embiid had a rough night last night… this should have been Mitch instead of Bridges and I wish it was

I question, cautiously as a Wolves fan, Wemby's conditioning level. He played more minutes last night than any game all season. Yes, 12 blocks...but that was so energy-demanding. I am unsure in a longer series he won't have another game where he just looks spent down the stretch.

With that said, SA could win the next four by 20+ a game. But, MIN didn't play great and left a lot of points on the table themselves and could have won by more. Flip side, almost lost. I say SA wins the next one and we go to MIN tied up...

Ironically, Spurs have a size problem against the Wolves. Outside of Wemby they're really small and Minnesota isn't. Lots of mismatches to be exploited.

For the Spurs it is. You need 2 points to tie the games. They let their 5th option take a 3.
