Detwiler will probably go to the pen.

Pretty sure he is slotted into the rotation Strasburg, Gonzalez, Zimmermann, Haren and Detwiler

Definite possibility but I can't see them giving up on him as a starter this soon, and he has a LONG ways to go to get ML ready both stuff wise and health wise. (Though the two are directly related)

The nats played out of their minds all year last year, barely even having a slump. And the braves played like shite for half the year and somehow managed to finish just 4 back. Nats better hope to play flawless ball in addition to the braves regressing or staying the same.

Kid was on the Single A disabled list all last season. I don't think management is counting on him at the major league level this year.

They didn't play out of their minds, they played like a very solid ball club. No reason to think they will regress. The core of that club was pitching and they have it in droves with 3 studs in the rotation and Strasburg finally free of that homo innings count. Bullpen is stacked, but has a glaring need of a lefty who can go an entire inning, not just a LOOGY.

Braves will be strong, but the Nats are still the favorite.

The nats will be favored, but the division will come down to the wire between them and braves. The winner will be the team that stays healthier.

They played as well as they can play last year. There's no where to go but down.

DC f@gs, what are they going to do once Rendon is ready? I'd imagine it's either let Desmond or Espinosa walk, and out of those two you keep Desmond. Zimm is under contract forever.

Not really.

Young guys like Harper, Desmond and Espinosa get better. Strasburg, Morse (if not traded), Jayson Werth and Wilson Ramos for a full year.

Zimmerman and Laroche are rocks.

Span, Soriano, Rendon will all be welcomed additions. Plus whoever they get if they trade Morse.

I was going to type out a response like that but figured it wouldn't even be worth the time. So I just laughed

The only one who you can even maybe say played above their heads were Desmond & Detwiler, who are 27 & 26 y/o

Gio and Zimmermann are studs. Haren is jumping back into the NL in a big park; as long as he's healthy he is another big SP.

They had a handful of big players miss significant time.

Zimm wasn't 100% and played like shite in the first half. If he can keep up his play from after the AS break last season, he's an MVP candidate. Desmond missed a good bit of time with injuries. Werth and Morse (not sure if he will be back with them next season) both missed like half the season. Strasburg was on an innings limit. The sky is the limit for Harper.

They clearly couldn't get any better

yeah, its not like Kris Medlen didnt pitch out of his mind, or Beachy when he was healthy, or Paul Maholm when he was acquired.

Braves right now are a 90 win team. Good for 2nd place and a possible WC

Forgetting about all your players that played over their heads last year and the numerous braves that had career worst years? It's gonna be a dogfight.

Harper + Strasburg for full season very good
No Chipper + Expected come back to earth for Medlen not good

Nats Staff > Braves
Braves Bullpen > Nats
Nats Batters = Braves Batters

Nats win division by 5 barring injury
