Just split the title. Bama's gonna claim a championship anyway because Ohio State played so few games.

Postponing doesn't make any sense. With the Big Ten 17 day rule, new positive players can't play on the 18th anyways.

I'm guessing their stupid arse rules also has a handful of guys out on the 11th simply due to contract tracing.

How about if these guys aren't showing symptoms and are testing negative they can play? Let's use our brains for once.

Bama hasn’t had the SEC completely re-write rules on the fly to their advantage.

Officiating issues? Yes. Blatant “let’s fix this via vote to help out Bama”? Less so.

OSU has dealt with a ton of Covid issues; way more than any of the other contenders. Not sure what the deal is

Answer: They are a member of the Big 10, who was forced kicking and screaming to put together a half-assed football season this year. One, where they put in such onerous pandemic requirements that they hoped it would force a de facto shut down...until they realized one of their member schools would likely be in the playoffs. So they changed the rules to make sure that happened.

Alabama on the other hand had their HC test positive before the biggest game of the season (Georgia)...only to then miraculously heal and/or get a "better" test (i.e. one that was negative) so he could coach in the game.

I have no animosity towards OSU. In fact, I'm somewhat pulling for them. But their conference was one of the leaders in this ongoing absurdity (relative to college football) so I'm not a fan of the idea of bending the rules once more to ensure they are at full strength for the game. The Big 10 helped make this ridiculous bed. Now they can lay in it

Clemson didn’t get to shift the semi-final based on Covid cases so tOSU should not be allowed to. Either play with who they have or forfeit.

They have received nearly every benefit this season from Covid. Enough is enough.

right, cause if someone gets very sick from this no one will ever find out and shut college football down forever?

What college football player was hospitalized for Covid this season?

Football? None I am aware of.

OTOH, that star basketball player from Florida collapsed with a heart condition which they think was Covid linked.

Even if it wasn’t, it is close enough that the college sports haters are creaming themselves.

Are you implying that there are no false positives?

He had one positive test followed immediately by 3 negative tests. He then missed the fricking iron bowl with a positive test result.

With the Big Ten 17 day rule

They'll just vote it down to seven days so they can be available for January 18.

And sadly, that is what would happen. The Big ten bends the rules for Ohio State

Tough shite. Play the game.

If you played a full schedule your Covid wave would be over already.

We don't want to hear it.

We (all of us SEC types) just went through a 10 game schedule and had Covid issues weekly and mid-season opt outs.

It was like having 2 injury reports. 1 - for the actual injured players you'll be without and 2 - the players quarantined because of Covid.

There has been zero evidence that his collapse was Covid related. Did Hank Gathers die of Covid? Pistol Pete Maravich? Sadly, some people are born with heart defects.
