There are concerns related to Ohio State’s player availability for the game, according to sources, setting up a massive decision less than a week from when the game is scheduled to kick off in Miami. Ohio State has informed key parties involved it could be without a position group due to COVID-19 testing and related protocols.

There have been discussions amongst the SEC, Big Ten, the College Football Playoff and the schools related to possibly postponing the Jan. 11 title game, sources said, though a final decision on the situation has yet to be reached. The CFP has already established Jan. 18 in Hard Rock Stadium as the makeup date should the title game have to be postponed.

Didn’t they say a while back that they wouldn’t delay the game due to covid issues?

The rumor is it's OSU starting DT Togiai and one of OSU's main rotation DEs in Tyreke Smith. Would obviously be huge losses but OSU was without 2/5 of their DE rotation against Clemson.

OSU has dealt with a ton of Covid issues; way more than any of the other contenders. Not sure what the deal is

Have them breathe on Fields and Sermon to get the game delayed.

Why not?
They've changed several other rules to put Ohio State in the game

This wouldn't be changing rules; there was always a makeup date in place if Covid hit

Wouldn't they be cleared of covid by the 11th? Just change the big10 rules again. It's the final game. Who really gives a shite at this point.

Sounds like a move to give Fields another week to heal.

normally I think they should tell tOSU to get fricked...but if all 3 games of the playoffs are total duds, not a good look. So they may be patient in hopes of a good game

This sounds like a conspiracy theory.

Just make them forfeit. Still wouldn’t be Alabama’s most dubious national title claim

What happens if next week it’s Alabama? This is dumb. Play the stupid game. It’s not going to get any better.

Yall didn't get it form Clemson as that game wasn't even 4 days ago, so why should yall be rewarded for breaking protocol if you are in fact having an outbreak rights now?

I mean I get if it's OSU's entire DL but if it's 2 guys, I say play the game. No excuses

Is it that outlandish? OSU without Fields (or even with a seriously banged up Fields) has an exactly 0% chance to beat Alabama.

With one game left Ohio State and the Big 10 could easily cover up covid results. They just don't want to.
