Duke vs. Kentucky 1992
Freakin Laettner.
Not because I'm a UK fan, but because I've hated Duke ever since Shaq got screwed over for player of the year and all the other honors, like playing on the original Dream Team, by that overrated drag queen.

Iowa vs. UNLV in the 1987 Elite 8. Iowa was up by 16 at the half and lost by 2. Iowa probably would have won the National Title that year, as they had handled Indiana in the regular season giving Bobby Knight one of his worst defeats ever in the process.
Iowa vs. Ohio St. in 1985. Iowa was #1 and 8-0 going against a decent OSu team. But rain and sloppy conditions derailed Iowa's high powered passing game with Chuck Long at the helm and ruining Iowa's National Championship hopes.

I still have troubles with that Tennessee game in '59 (my freshman year at LSU). If the Tigers win that one, we finish the season #1, we probably don't give Ole Miss a rematch in the Sugar Bowl - two straight 11-0 seasons.

09 ole miss. Never seen a game so blatently mismanaged on the backend! It was painful.

....then he learned to scuff the ball.
For me, game 7 of the '06 NLCS for a lot of the same reasons the earlier poster stated.
I watch Carlos Beltrans knees buckle from that Adam Wainwright curveball every night in my sleep.

58-3 also comes to mind.

lsu-bama 94, 96, 98, 08
lsu-arkie 02,07
lsu-auburn 04,06
lsu-fla 06,07, 08
lsu-tenn 05
lsu-lowa- 04
lsu-ole piss-08
For reasons mentioneed earlier (National Champ)the Aurburn '06 is high on my list along with Florida 06 fumbled snap on the 1 yrd line.
When I look back at the games that eat at me its about a 4:1 ratio Miles to Saban but I got that 98 Bama onside kick TD still eating at me from the DiNardo era. Back to Miles for a second, he may have some of the most painfull losses and wins any fan will ever experience.

you named '94 Bama but not '94 Auburn?

The Orioles were the best team in baseball that year but couldn't buy a hit with RISP in the ALCS. Wasted one of the all-time great postseason performances by Mike Mussina. Oh and frick Armando Benitez.
this. We were robbed of the World Series by Tony F'n Fernandez. Seriously, check out mussina's line in the 1997 ALCS:
15 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 4 BB, 25 K, 0.60 ERA, 0.533 WHIP, 0 wins.
Orioles record in those two games: 0-2. In Game 6, he threw a ONE HITTER. The offense left 14 men on base. Just an agonizing loss, and the O's last winning season. I can't even talk about it.
Other painful ones:
-- LSU-Auburn, 2006
-- Flames-Lightning, Game 7 of 2005 Stanley Cup. that was a friggin goal. Damn replay.
-- Maryland-Duke, 2002 Final Four. Blew a 20 point lead. Officials so crooked the neutral court crowd booed them.

79 LSU vs USC. FACT- LSU was robbed
09 Bama & Ole Miss stuck with me for days. My gravestone will read "PP made the int in bounds"
in between those years....not much really. Final Four loss to Indiana was tough, I was a kid
87 loss due to no calls in the 2nd half b/c Bobby Knight punched the scorers table is still tough to swallow

For me, 2003 NLCS Game 6..."The Bartman Game." Not because of Bartman, but because of Alex Gonzales. I won't be over that until the Cubs win the pennant.
To all the Ohio St fans, I get that the 2006 loss was bad given the undefeated season, Heisman winner, and winning streak; but I'm surprised none of you mentioned the next year when OSU had the chance to redeem themselves, and layed a slightly smaller (but not much smaller) egg against LSU.

1999 Duke-UConn is one of my picks. I still can't believe that team lost. It was almost as disappointing as the 2002 Indiana game. I can't remember being so shocked and pissed after a big game.
