For some reason, I was more pissed after the Kentucky game.

I kind of sensed another loss was coming by the Arky game.

~In the 2004 NLCS game 7, fricking Jim Edmonds hit a walk off homer to send the Cards to the world series. I was pissed after that one...until 2005.
~20005 World Series games 1-4. The Astros total lack of offense in that World Series was sickening. I'm still not over it due to the shitty seasons that would follow.
~2006 NFC Championship. fricking Rex Grossman.

1997 ALCS

The Orioles were the best team in baseball that year but couldn't buy a hit with RISP in the ALCS. Wasted one of the all-time great postseason performances by Mike Mussina. Oh and frick Armando Benitez.

I don't want to say I'll never get over any loss, because I don't think that's true, but a few that were/still are tough to swallow:

1. Michigan State, 1998. I was 7. I threw a temper tantrum for a good hour, slamming doors, banging on walls. Damn you, Saban.

2. Rams/Titans Super Bowl. So close, and yet so far. This one almost hurts more than #1, since the Titans haven't won a SB since (or ever) while OSU won one in 02.

3. Ohio State/UF, 2006 NCG. Without a doubt the most disappointed I've ever been in a team. That performance was a complete embarassment and disgrace. No other way to describe it. The players (and coaches) that participated in that game should have been/still should be ashamed of themselves for that crappy product and effort displayed that night.

4. Mets/Cardinals, Game 7, 2006 NLCS. At the time, this didn't seem like too big of a deal, actually. Sure I was upset, but I thought we'd still have a good shot the next year. Now, after 3 years of missing the playoffs since, and realizing just how close we were to winning the series (and probably the WS), it really stings.

The Jackets haven't been good enough to give me any heartbreaking losses yet, just heartbreaking seasons.

Arkansas losing to Texas in "The Game of the Century" in 1969

GT generally doesn't have high enough expectations to set up for one loss to stand out.

The one I'll never get over is OSU/Texas 05. I grew up in Houston and went to OSU; and we totally beat those guys.........

So many small things that cost us that game; and we would have busted USC up

I'm over it (sports isn't life), but the one that hurt the most was:

1986 NLCS game 6 - Mets beat the 'Stros in 7-6 in 16 innings.

I sat in my office 42 St and Lexington and listened to the game. As soon as it was over headed home happy.

I hated Mike Scott because he always handled the mets

Surprisingly, Im over that one.

I'm not. That loss ended up blowing our national championship hopes.

Tennessee 2005 and Auburn 2006 are the big ones for me.

Also LSU baseball winning game 1 of the 2001 Super Regional against Tulane then blowing the next two. What a joke.

That was game 6. The homerun sent it to game 7, then Clemens blew that one.

Mike Scott was incredible that year, cut ball or not. About 3 weeks before the NLCS, I attended the game where he pitched a no-hitter to clinch the NL West.
