We saw it already vs the old Spurs when he was in Cleveland. They invited him to attack the rim and even at peak athleticism he couldn’t finish over the bigs. That would’ve been his diet back in that era.

Sorry you can’t see past your thirst for the dude.

I don’t mean to bash the game as much as vigorously claim Lebron would be even more clearly the GOAT if he played in those eras.
Lol your ignorance is outstanding.
You call LeBron the goat even though he has literally no argument for it and will dismiss criticism of him losing in the Finals yet you will call Tom Brady the GOAT because of his team’s Super Bowl wins. Your arguments are entirely backwards and require a high level of cognitive dissonance.

80s - 90s Lakers Celtic Pistons Bulls NBA Dream team era was the shite.
it was just "shite", not "the shite"...
watching Jordan and Pippen was fun, but the athleticism is NO WHERE close to what we see from so many more players in today's era of the NBA...

He would have been the best overall athlete back then. But he would have had trouble with the rules back then with the way he acts on the court. He complains a ton in todays game. His complaining back then would put a huge target on his back…just speaking the truth.
He wouldn’t be the same level of athlete if he were born 20 years sooner. Even if you took say 13 year old LeBron and threw him back 20 years he still wouldn’t be what he was during his career. Different rules, different environment, would be drinking Coca-Cola and Budweiser in the locker room at half to get energy.

So you will agree with me when I say that Len Bias was a better athlete than Bron????

I missed it
But still, NBA regular season games aren't what they used to be in the 90's.
For shame

This thread started off with an awesome, admitted-by-the-OP, nostalgia-tinged homage to 80s-90s NBA.
Now its de-volved into arguing that Vince Carter might be a better shooter than Steph Curry based on a practice video. Good job MSB.

No it didn’t but if you actually read the thread you would know that.

Because teams figured out they could punt 10-15 of them every year, (or 30 if they’re a title contender) and no one knows which ones they could be
Not only that, they could win some if the other team decided to punt too

Now what?

You don’t think Brady is the GOAT????
Posted on 8/19/24 at 9:47 pm to dukke v
I think he’s the GOAT now.
But years and years ago I was not on that train. Or at least I thought it was a strong debate, while Brady folks wouldn’t even entertain the idea that he wasn’t the goat.

I’d take Montana over Brady myself.

And Manning and Rodgers. That’s just QBs.
Jerry Rice is probably the greatest NFL player of all time. Playing 20 years at a high level from the early 80s to the early 00s and not being a Kicker or Punter is insane.

I agree that Jerry is the GOAT. Even in this pass happy era, he has records that won’t be touched.

And for all you dumbass Lebron fans, let me put it terms that you can maybe understand. Everyone, even and probably especially Lebron, wants to be like Mike.
Lebron never had the world singing that they wanted to be like him, and never will.
