Calling Clay Travis a hack is far from endorsing Bubba. I've held that opinion before I knew who Bubba Wallace is.
As I've said before, I was introduced to Clay when he worked in Nashville and used Finebaum to promote his book. This was around 2004 or whenever his first book was released. He would call in and spend an hour trolling - blatantly I might add. It is who he is and when he saw the opportunity to gain more popularity by trolling through politics, he took advantage.
He's only fooling those who support him because he's saying what they want to hear. Anyone who has followed his career knows he's an opportunist looking for any means necessary to stay relevant.

You have a point. But at the same time some of his takes are spot on, regardless of his motives.

He wasn't hardcore about promoting his beliefs until he realized being a sports troll wouldn't take him much further than it already had.
Clay's career has had a resurgence since Trump came along. That's not a coincidence. He's smart to take advantage of it, don't get me wrong. He's making money off of opinions no one knows whether or not he actually believes because he never promoted them until it became the popular thing to do.
Again, nothing but an opportunist.

That's why I roll my eyes at Travis. Everything he said/did prior to 2015 was a sports commentator with fairly liberal political views when it came up.
His career wasn't going well, so he 180ed his political views and pushed them to the forefront over sports. Now he just puts out stuff he thinks Trump fans will agree with and tries to make a living off people who want news that confirms their own beliefs.
