This. Delusional and arrogant. And now they're a national joke. It's even flashing on the ESPN ticker.

i posted this in another thread somewhere

one of their posts says "we put 40k in the indy bowl stadium, that should mean something"

they played a&m there, and the aggies brought about 25k with them
so tech put 15k in there one hour from campus vs a top 10 team, and they want better treatment?

Save your energy, brother. LA Tech's fan base is like a cult. They've deluded themselves for decades.

Edit: see the post directly above mine.

You have those numbers reversed. The stadium was 60-40 tech at the very minimum.

So you're saying that it was 60 A&M - 40 Tech?

60-40 advantage to tech. The sideline seats were filled evenly but te entire south end zone was our student section and we had a really good student turnout.

I'm not sure where this guy got 25,000 Aggies. They brought a good crowd, but not that good.

irregardless of the percentages (even the espn article said evenly split)
if the total; attendance was listed at 40,453 per the boxscore
then tech did not put 40k fans in there

No they didn't put 40,000 in. They put 25-30 thousand in. Saying we put 40,000 in is dumb. But you saying we only brought 15,000 was just as dumb.

This all results from Tech being in a bubble over there in Ruston, like many smaller college towns, and thinking they are more important and recognized nationally than they really are. Fact is nobody outside of Northern Louisiana cares about Louisiana Tech all that much.

The Independence Bowl still could have brought Tech over. And no matter how you spin it, nothing but arrogance got Tech where it is today. Call it thinking a better bowl was going to come knocking, call it thinking they are above playing ULM, whatever the reason was, it all boils down to having their noses up in the air. The Indy Bowl called them on it, gave them the middle finger by going with Ohio and now Tech has shite all over its face.

And now, Tech is royally screwed. The team is not going to be nearly as good next year. No bowl is going to want to deal with them should they be eligible again in the near future. If Dykes leaves, who's going to want that job knowing that you may end up in this situation after a good year. And, their worse nightmare has come true in that ULM is the up and coming, feel-good program in the region that got more local focus and attention, even with Tech being 9-3.

I've never understood where the Tech boosters and fan base's arrogance originated from. Ruston's a sucky, nothingburger town with a butt-ugly campus plopped in the middle of it.

Tech is now screwed. We have a good program and will have no problem finding a new coach (Todd Monken).

Y'all are waaaaaay overblowing this no bowl thing. It was a crazy situation, it's not like we consistently miss out on bowls when we are eligible.

We are heading to a decent conference while ULM is in a conference that's about to fall off the map.

This whole thing has a been a fail by North Louisiana football and all should be disgraced except nlu.

Tech always begs for Shreveports support and complains that they don't get it and then pull this kind of crap. Sure the Indy bowl is not marquee but has a good history, is a bowl game, and it would have been a chance to have an extra rivalry game in Shreveport and would have had interest in the area.

Also tech get over yourself. Ulm is and should be a rival. Hell the campuses are 40 miles apart with similar athletic heritages. Really what is wrong with having a rival and not ducking them.

I speak from a unique perspective I went to both ulm and la tech and graduated from la tech. I went to la tech vs ulm games in the late nineties and had a hell of a good time with great crowds at both stadiums. I don't see the issue with them playing and think it should happen more.

Lastly, the Indy bowl should also have some blame. You guys know the drill and know your a low tier bowl. They should have a least waited a little bit for tech to evaluate its options.

I find it quite sad that most people on the MSB are taking so much delight in kicking a team & a fan base when they're down. Is this really what its come down to here? Is this fun?
Its quite ignorant to shite on the Entire Tech fan base over a horrible decision that was made by a small group of people. Most Tech fans would definitely opt to go to the IBowl over nothing at all, regardless of who we would play.... And y'all know this as well.
I suggest that yall have some RESPECT for our football team. They read this site. They had a stellar year & don't deserve all the hate that y'all are dishing out.

Why should they have to accommodate Tech? Wait until Tech gets a shot at a different bowl, and risk getting some leftover team after all the dust has settled? Although, I understand that Tech owns every market north of Alexandria (especially Shreveport) , and should be accommodated.
