Mullen to UF - what do you think the chances are of that after this year?

obviously he could run for mayor of Starkvegas right now

but with the uncertainty in Gainesville surrounding Muschamp and considering his previous ties to UF, it seems a logical fit.

I think he could wreck the SEC if that happened. what say you?

They will definitely make him their number one candidate. Whether he wants to leave Cowbell U will be the factor though. Success at UF should be more sustainable than success at Starkvegas.

It can't be appealing to have to rebuild somewhere after just reaching the top at a school. He probably wants to enjoy what he built at State.

Personally, it would be a wise decision. Jump ship now. It can't be that hard to win the East. UF is still in contention for it and they are just plain awful.

Better recruiting, better money, and I'd rather live in Gainesville than Starkville.

Why would he want to take a downgrade of a job?

If it's a top 3 job it can be.

I don't think Florida is a Top 3 job, especially with the resurgence of Florida State.

Apparently there's not much love between UF administration and the Mullen family. I wouldn't bet on it.

I'm not saying Florida State is a Top 3 job. I'm saying that Florida isn't when they have to deal with another power in the same state.

I do but it's top 5 at worse. Miss. St on the other hand isn't close to that.

Eh, he's clearly having a great year, but I'm not on board with this just yet. But I think someone will hire him away and overpay him based on this season alone.

How many jobs that would be considered top 10 have the state to themselves? Not Texas, not Bama, not USC, not Oklahoma, not any of the Florida big dogs, not Michigan.

What does Miss St. have coming back next year? Aren't there a lot of Seniors on that team? Like someone said this is the perfect time to jump ship to another program if the cupboard is bare.

Same mistake with Muschamp, Mullen is not a good coach.

it's extremely appealing to not have to play bama, lsu, auburn, arky, aTm, and ole miss every single year. the east is way down right now, and the west doesn't have a weak team (LSU is pretty bad, but not a gimme win by any means). success at florida is much more easily sustainable than at MSU. tons of recruits right in your backyard, better than mississppi.

I'm not saying he definitely goes, but I can certainly see the appeal of leaving for Florida.

If Florida calls, he has to go. Nothing left to do at MSU
