They look like shite and are by far the cheapest feeling slabs

Different cards look better in different slabs imo. Plenty of cards looks like shite in PSA slabs. And I’ve definitely seen some cards that look best in an SGC slab.

I have one of their old slabs that look rough. I didn't like their grading scale back then either.

Ripped a 20-21 prizm retail box last night, 600 panini points in place of the auto
I don't think this will make you feel better lol, but last time I valued panini points (six months ago ish) I put them at 100 points = $7. That's based off eBay comps. Not what you would get for the points. You can count on one hand the Prizm sticker RC autos you would get from that box worth 42 bucks. Not telling you anything you probably don't already know. Just pumping some sunshine!

Opening the packs is the fun part. Otherwise it's just investing.
I mean, obviously..... I ripped my first packs in 1989 and still addicted to it. I didn't realize 5 year old me or my Dad were gambling addicts, but it's what it always has been. I'm currently addicted to Arena Club Slab Packs. Ultimate a fool and his money gambling. Ripping from my office chair. Have over 100 cards in my showroom that I'm trying to figure out where I went wrong.
I was just commenting that, in my opinion, there's not great value in ripping those Costco Donruss bundles. I don't see long term collectability in those oversized Downtown cards. Just my two cents. Just nostalgia for your favorite players, which is why I said buy the singles you want off eBay, rather than be stuck with oversized cards you don't want.
I still have a Terrell Davis signed 8x10 from 1997 Leaf Signature that 13 year old me hit in a pack and he was one of my favorite players at that time. No way I would have kept up with it, if it had been one of the 97% of names on the checklist no one cared about.

There's a show in BR on Sunday, anyone going? I wont be there, but my brother got two tables (he'll have a decent bit of my junker cards there with him
)

Hadn’t posted in a while. Mainly just added some cool PC items lately. Have a bunch coming in for a show coming up though.
Soon as I saw this in the new A&G I had to have it. Love A&G and Bolt and his Olympic races are some of my all time favorite live sports moments. This one is staying in the safe.
Pulled this from the new GoT set. She’s the one person I PC from GoT so that was a nice pull for me. Purchased the other.
A few for my LOTR PC and a sketch by my favorite card artist.
Random one from FB. Honeycombs always sell easy at shows.
Also bought our first piece of “expensive” art at an estate sale.

I've recently gotten back into this at 38 yrs old. Have all my stuff from a kid and then have bought some boxes and packs - lately been picking up some individual cards of Saints players I liked over last 20 year and rookie cards.
a bunch of the guys I work with dove back in at the same time. It's fun and absolutely crack.

He doesn't usually do signers. The Bossier show does. I've talked to the person who puts on the show about it before and he thinks it'll take away from the show/bring in people that are just there for the signers and not for cards.
I get it, but I feel like the more traffic the better. They might not have come in with buying memorabilia in mind but left with some stuff. There's a reason the Dallas Card Show is adding more and more every year.
I think the hard part is just making the connections to be able to get signers that are worth bringing.
