I put magic over Lebron. What magic did changed how the game of basketball was/is played. You never had a 6’9 guy dribbling the ball upcourt and running the fast break. And as a rookie he had one of the best playoff games ever at
Philly to win the title without Kareem. He led
His team to 5 titles and made players around him better probably more than any other player in history.

Is MJ 5 different people now?

Him in his prime was truly something to behold so I don’t understand the constant need to denigrate his basketball skills.

In real time when he was at his peak, the same posters on here were criticizing him for not having an elite post up game.

100% truth.

The points thing-that’s the 3 point era. At the time of the passing of KAJ, LeBron would have 6k less points than Kareem had he played in the same era.
Do you mean 2k?

MJ is a top 10 guy, people would lose their shite if someone said that. Same applies to Lebron.

Kareen/Lebron/MJ, in whatever order you want, but it's darn near impossible to make a legit argument that can be backed up for anyone over those 3 dudes as a top 3. Yes, anyone can just say there are 8 dudes better than Lebron, but you can't logically make that argument.

Like I said, there is no legit logical argument, the statement can be made, but that's it.

Lebron is a great once in a lifetime type player. The most physically gifted
Player of all time. But magic did more for the game than Lebron did. And it was a big black eye for me in Lebron case because he started bitching and moaning after every shot he took in the lane. And then he became a huge flipper and would start bitching at the refs instead of getting back on defense.

We've briefly posted on this, Kobe's reputation as a killer I'd say is vastly overrated. Kobe's antics in 2006 against Phoenix were as pathetic as Lebron's quitting against the Celtics in 2010. I'm not aware of any such issues with effort with Michael Jordan, but I'd be interested to look into them if someone knows of such a performance.

Don’t let Lebron getting swept distract you from the fact that they didn’t make the expanded playoffs last season.

Kobe's main argument isn't even statistical, it's NBA writer-based reputation awards (All Defense, All NBA, etc.). The irony is that all that love wasn't enough for a legit MVP, and he got kind of a career achievement MVP in 2008.

Oh and then there's all the esoteric stuff like "Mamba mentality"

When a person claims that Kobe was better than Lebron, you know either the irrationality, emotionality, or lack of intelligence is at play.

Lebron's a shithead but I've been an NBA fan since 1976 and he is clearly the 2nd best player I've ever seen. He was a terror defensively during his prime and still showed a flash of that last night on Murray.

Is LeBron even a top 50 nba player?

Is Anthony Edwards a better player than LeBron?

Would the 2023 Denver Nuggets even win one game out of 50 against any NBA playoff team from the 90s?

He’s not more skilled, if that’s what you’re implying. IQ is about what and what.

Even so, as I said initially, there’s about 7-8 guys ahead of James, and a few who are a coin flip.

Kobe 3peated and went back to back.

At a certain threshold of greatness, winning matters. It may not to you.

Like Eric Gordon over Curry or Westbrook over Durant.

If you applied the “statistics only” argument that guy is making universally you’d have guys like Melo ahead of much better players. The thing about pro Lebron arguments is all the standards and context shift to support one specific player.

He was riding the coattails of Shaq for that 3peat.

LeBron has twice as many FMVP as Kobe.
