OJ wasn’t much of a husband; but he was the best player on the field just about every Sunday.

Earl, Barry, in that order

Barry Sanders #1?,but Bo Jackson would have been had he stayed healthy. Adrian Peterson taking a close third.

That’s not how that phrase works. But like you said Brown was miles ahead of everyone during his time and proved it while Jackson was a big what if. They’re not comparable.
Proper use would be saying Otto Graham was the Joe Montana of his day.
I hear you, but I only phrased it that way for the youngsters that don't realize how great Brown was. Many have seen Bo and know his talent, they have no idea that Brown was that in his day. He was, and still is, the greatest running back of all time. I still think Sayers was the most electrifying, but Brown was the best.

Barry Sanders. Saw him in 1993 in the Superdome. Saints 14 Lions 3. Sanders 76 yards on 16 carries—quite a feat against the Dome Patrol.

I'm gonna go with Barry sanders

While his career was obviously cut short, the Bo Jackson’s Monday night run against Dallas in 1987 was what made 6 year old me fall in love with football. When he ran out that tunnel I was amazed that a guy could do that.

Ladainian Tomlinson or Barry Sanders

Yea, I don't know if it's because I was young during his prime, but I thought/think Barry Sanders will always be the most electrifying.
I'm surprised no one's mentioned Marshawn "Beast mode" Lynch in his prime. He's a freaking cartoon character, but was truly a great RB with good speed, incredible power and balance, and elite vision.

Sanders with ease
Someone who never gets mentioned much in these type discussions is Eric Metcalf.

Eric the Great wasn’t electrifying in my opinion he was just so smooth and fast. His cuts weren’t jaw dropping. I’m a huge Eric fanboy. Simms and Rozier if not for injuries would’ve been in this discussion
Dupree was a bigger Eric with speedier feet

It was Barry Sanders' birthday yesterday. He's the most electrifying runner I ever saw. He replaced Walter Payton on my list, who replaced Gale Sayers.
Agree with the three but I would put Sayers ahead of Sweetness.
Won't be popular for off-field events but OJ was amazing too.

Bo Jackson - there's never been anyone like him.
Everyone loves Barry's dancing but he rarely broke them.
Electric to me means, you're thinking everytime this guy touches the ball he can take it into the endzone no matter how far away he is.
That was Bo.
Barry Sanders is a Top 3 back...but for a brief period Bo was superhuman.

Sanders could definitely apply to this too even better than Bo could. Through Bo’s career (555 touches) he had 18 TDs. Sanders had 25 TDs through his first 555 touches. Also despite playing significantly longer and with thousands more touches (harder to maintain a high ypt), his ypt avg is only 0.3 yards lower compared to Bo.

I had Sanders all through the 90's on fantasy and he would break off long runs and then get tackled at the 5 yard line.
And then the Lions would take him out goal line.
Incredibly frustrating.
Sanders got caught from behind more often then people care to remember.
