I forgot Leake was making over 15 million a year, no wonder there is no trade interest

Cardinals are reportedly open to trading right-hander Carlos Martinez and outfielder Tyler O’Neill by the July 31 deadline. However, they’re not “aggressively” shopping either of those two or outfielder Harrison Bader, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. On the other hand, they plan to “explore interest” in righty Michael Wacha, according to Goold.

The Cubs are among the teams with interest in Tigers right fielder Nicholas Castellanos, per Chris McCosky of the Detroit News. “This one has some teeth,” McCosky adds.

Man, would the Pirates really move Vazquez? They also have Liranio they can move for at least a prospect. Melky, Dickerson, and Matte, wonder if the Indians go for one to help their OF.

I feel like you have to trade bullpen arms when their trade value is at their highest. They can get so much for him right now

The Giants have designated left-hander Derek Holland for assignment, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Back in May, right-hander Andrew Cashnersuggested to Dan Connolly of The Athletic that he’d consider sitting out the rest of the season if the Orioles sent him to an undesirable destination by the July 31 trade deadline. Cashner, whom Baltimore traded to Boston last weekend, confirmed to Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com that he indeed would have held out through year’s end had the Orioles dealt him somewhere he didn’t want to go.

The Mariners announced the acquisition of right-handed reliever Matt Magill from the Twins in exchange for cash considerations.

Stroman, 28, could make two starts before then, but the Blue Jays may decide to move him prior to his next scheduled outing on Wednesday at Rogers Centre.

Seven teams -- the Braves, Cubs, Dodgers, Padres, Rays, Reds and Red Sox -- had one scout in attendance Friday at Comerica Park.

The Yankees had two -- including former Cubs general manager Jim Hendry, a top advisor to Yankees GM Brian Cashman.

Undoubtedly, some of the talent evaluators were more focused on Tigers closer Shane Greene, who pitched the ninth inning despite his team trailing by 11 runs.

David Kaplan of NBC Sports Chicago adds (via Twitter) that the Cubs have also checked in on Tigers closer Shane Greene. The two teams could pursue a package deal that sends both Greene and Castellanos to Chicago, though as Kaplan notes, the Cubs would have to surrender considerable prospect capital to consummate such an agreement. The aforementioned pair includes two of the Tigers’ most coveted assets, and Detroit will be careful not to be undersold. Greene, unlike Castellanos, is controllable through the 2020 season.

Detroit is going to be stupid and hold onto players they should trade based on not getting enough value. Going to end up regretting it much like with Fulmer.

I bet they do -good luck with that, a couple of years late to get anything for him.

If #BlueJays indeed were reluctant to trade with #Braves, that stance has softened, sources say. Thus, Stroman and/or Giles to ATL possible. As Dave notes, Giles might be preference. Anthopoulos acquired two of his other former Jays - Bautista (later released) and Donaldson. 2/2

MadBum raised his trade value with huge performance last night. But the question now is whether he’ll be traded at all. One interested exec says he’d already sensed the Giants had “pulled back” in talks. Interesting call now: gutty team that’s hot vs. huge trade commodity

Felipe Vazquez has been of the most popular names on the reliever trade market, but the Pirates are doing their part to quash any ideas about his departure. Speaking with reporters Sunday before the Pirates' series finale against the Phillies, GM Neal Huntington stated that he will listen to many offers leading up to the July 31 Trade Deadline, but it would take a simply incredible deal to pry Vazquez away from Pittsburgh.

Sources: Toronto’s Eric Sogard and Texas’ Danny Santana are among the super-utility players drawing interest across @MLB, as teams (so far) have been unwilling to meet the high price on #Royals All-Star Whit Merrifield. @MLBNetwork @MLB

The #RedSox are among the teams to evaluate #BlueJays reliever Daniel Hudson in recent days. Hudson, with a 0.93 ERA in his last 16 outings, is drawing trade interest from multiple teams, source says. @MLBNetwork @MLB

Been wondering why Merrifield hasn’t been mentioned much. Would cost a ton but there’s no reason KC shouldn’t be looking to get the most for him and Hunter Dozier right now as they aren’t very young and KC isn’t going to be competing in the near future

10 days out...let’s try and update who we think have worked themselves in and out of being sellers

Indians and Nationals were borderline a few weeks ago but have both firmly worked themselves into playoff picture so can’t imagine they’ll be selling now

AL: Orioles, Tigers, Royals, Blue Jays, Mariners, White Sox...I guess the 2 biggest questions are Rangers and Angels who have similar records but have been trending opposite ways with Texas losing 7 straight

NL: Giants have worked their way into the playoff hunt which is probably the biggest storyline considering they had been assumed sellers all along. Reds Rockies and Padres might have worked their way into becoming sellers with a rough start after the all star break

So..Marlins, Reds, Mets, Pirates, Rockies/Padres? Dbacks (Greinke, Ray) and Giants (MadBum, Will Smith) are only 2.5 out of wild card but there are 4 teams ahead of them...
