Maybe not, but they'd be doing the fan base a disservice if they don't at least see what's out there.

they are 2 games above .500
while they may not make a run in 2018, they are a playoff contender as is going into 2019

I'm not disagreeing with any of that. I just think you have to listen to anyone who is making an offer. Obviously, you don't give him away, but you can at least assess his value to other teams. Then only make a deal you can't refuse.

I want to wait to deal players now that Matheny isnt managing. I wish there was more time to see if it was truly his bad managing and not the players.

Yea, you listen i guess, but him being cheap under team control for a few more years is more reason to keep him rather then deal him
Martinez
Wacha
Flaherty
Mikolas
Reyes
Weaver
you have a staff to build around. they can win a lot of games on this alone

The Orioles are getting “very close” to reaching an agreement on a Manny Machado trade, reports Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com (via Twitter). However, despite a report of a “handshake agreement” between the Orioles and Phillies by Barstool Sports, Kubatko adds that there’s no deal between the two teams in place.

After the AS game they will announce his trade, then Boston will make a move on Moose

Can't wait to see what lackluster return they get because they backed themselves into a corner.

Yeah I don't think they gonna get a great return, more a depth type return

I agree, but man, if some one offers you the world, you have to at least look. They have ZERO impact bats any where near AAA. O'Neil is a guy with super pop, but he is a 0-4 4 k's guy also.
Ozuna,Pham, fowlers failures has crippled them offensively. So kicking the tires doesn't hurt.

They need to try and dump Fowler like Leake, eat half that contract to get someone to take him.
Still love Ozuna, for having no help he's doing pretty well.
Pham makes 570K so it's hard to bitch, I guess if you really thought he was gonna hit 30 HR's and bat for .300+ you could, but that was dumb in the first place. At least Pham rejected that 2 year deal so we're not tied to him at all if we don't want to be going forward.

I don’t think that would do it right now with how bad he’s been. The only hope is probably that he picks it up the rest of the year and you can send some money with him this winter to get rid of him. I don’t hate on Mozeliak as much as some of your fans here seem to but I didn’t understand that signing at all with all the OF depth you had in the system

yeah cardinals need ozuna and fowler to pick it up.
I'm hearing Ozuna could be dealt at winter meetings, would still have a year left. I think they are really down on how bad defensively he's been. He's been really bad, not Fowler bad, but bad.
This is the worst defensive team the cardinals have ever had. Just horribly bad.

Mo has been pretty bad, but yeah it's pretty exaggerated by some.
Ozuna has been solid, more or less as expected. Didn't give up a top prospect to acquire him and only makes 9 million this year. Him hitting .270 20-25 HR and 80-90 RBI is pretty much what was expected.
His month of June was fantastic, .333/.373/.578 and a .951 OPS with 7 HR 21 RBI, but teams can easily pitch around him because the lineup sucks and he has no help around him in the order. Still only 27 too.
As for defense, not sure where Seeeek hears stuff but I think it's bad info. Ozuna's defense this year has been better than any single year from 2010-2016 by Matt Holliday, I can assure you they don't care that much.
Would not trade him unless it's a very strong offer.

Has Mikolas turned it around or is he a one year wonder. If Cards believe one year it makes sense to move him now while his value is high.
Posted on 7/16/18 at 5:54 pm to tduecen
Turned it around? You mean like long term outlook?
Cards really like him and he's a great clubhouse guy as well, I would be surprised if he's not in STL at least for the 2 year deal, and they'll probably look at add another 2-3 if next year goes similar to this. Possibly even this offseason.
Nothing about his performance this year says 1 year wonder, but that's always the gamble right?

However, despite a report of a “handshake agreement” between the Orioles and Phillies by Barstool Sports, Kubatko adds that there’s no deal between the two teams in place. To the contrary, Kubatko notes that both the Brewers and the Dodgers remain involved in the Machado market. Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com agrees, tweeting that “numerous” sources tell her that rumors regarding an agreement with the Phillies are “untrue.”
To be sure, it’d be strange for any club, especially one in the Orioles’ position, to effectively close off bidding 36 hours in advance of completing a trade when a better offer could come floating in at any time. An arrangement of that nature would come with little in the form of precedent. The inevitable Machado trade will be a franchise-altering moment for the Orioles, and cutting off negotiations this far in advance would be a downright bizarre means of going about it. By agreeing to a delayed agreement, they’d leave no room for the Dodgers, Brewers or any other club — the Yankees, D-backs, Braves, Indians and others have been involved to varying extents — to top whatever is currently being offered by the Phillies.
