Overall, 'buying' at the deadline is bad business. Or at least young-for-old trades generally are.
Trading for average starters that are wishcasted/hyped as to something more is bad business (Shane Baz, MacKenzie Gore et al). This year's prime candidate: Reid Detmers.

Think the brewers could line up for Skubal and make for a pretty entertaining NLCS with the Dodgers

Think the Dodgers do a prospect exchange if not now then in the winter where we try to move our depth of outfielders for other positional players

I've always found it a little odd how rare these are. I can never recall a prospect for prospect trade.

You kinda have to line up with organizations that have a lot of depth in one are and next to none in another and its kinda hard to anticipate that given how fickle prospects are but you'd think they would happen more often then they ultimately do

Only dumb teams overpay at the deadline. Now, notice I said overpay and not equal pay.

Teams could theoretically be more inclined to go all in this year but still hard to get an idea on if any major pieces are truly on the move when there is still so much up in the air from a standings perspective

If some one emptied their farm system, I'd trade Walker(stl) to them, and then trade burley(stl), along with others.

build around weatherholt

stl are in for a 2-3+ year rebuild, because MLB is bottomed out, they look better than they are. they need to replenish their system, and bring in top prospects ready to bloom.
