Huge day for the Minnesota Twins.
They finally win, after losing 20 of their last 30 games.
The Detroit Tigers finally lose.
The Kansas City Royals lose.
The Twins are now 1 game ahead of the Tigers for the third wild-card berth, and 1 behind the Royals for the 2nd spot.

Mets got blasted by the Phils last night, luckily the Braves lost to the Marlins so the lead stays at 2 games for now

Mets win! Take three out of four from Phillies, HUGE series win. Going into Atlanta with a two game lead and tied with Arizona (Mets hold the tiebreaker). Gonna be a fun final stretch..hopefully

I’ve been looking forward to these last two weeks of the schedule since July. Love that it’ll feel like the playoffs from here on out. Who knows what’ll happen but it should be fun.

Don’t look now, but the Dodgers are only one game up on the Yanks and Phillies. Yanks could finish with best record in the majors. Whodathunkit

Here we go...final week is here! Everyone has 6 games remaining. Not too long ago it seemed like there was a good chance there wouldn't be much excitement in the last week and man has that changed. Tons of teams still in the mix. Here's a quick summary

National League
Phillies and Dodgers will have the top 2 seeds and get a bye. The Dodgers lead them by 1 game for top seed so that is still in play. Brewers as the other division winner will be the 3 seed and face the 3rd wild card team in the first round. Speaking of wild card...that's where the excitement is. Padres should get the first wild card spot. Arizona and NYM are currently tied for the 2nd and 3rd spots. Atlanta sits 2 games back of both those teams, but they host the Mets in a massive 3 game series starting tomorrow (Tuesday)

American League
Looks like the Yanks will win the East and be joined by Cleveland as the top 2 seeds who will get a bye. NYY currently leads Cleveland by 2 games for the 1 seed so they should get it. Houston is closing in on another division title barring a wild collapse and will be the 3 seed who plays the 3rd wild card team in the first round.

Now for the fun part. The AL Wild Card is absolute mayhem thanks to the AL Central turning into a shite show. The Royals weren't even considered to be on the outside looking in, but a 7 game losing streak has them hanging on for dear life. The Twins arent doing much better having gone 3-7 in their last 10. Detroit...yes the Detroit Tigers who were sellers at the deadline...have capitalized and been playing very well. As things stand, Detroit and KC are tied and hold the 2nd and 3rd wild card sports. Minnesota is sitting right behind just 1 game behind both of those teams. Seattle is only 2 games back, but because of tiebreakers, they would need to finish VERY strong this week while the 3 AL Central teams would need to play terrible

I don't know who holds certain tiebreakers as of this moment, so if someone knows or comes across the info feel free to post. Here's to hoping the next 7 days are filled with chaos

Mets hold tiebreaker with the D-Backs, I think they do with the Padres as well but i doubt that one will be necessary.

*If the Mets take at least two of three games from the Braves, they're in.

*If the Mets go at least 4-2 over their final six games, they're in.

*In a scenario where the Mets take just one of three games from the Braves, they would remain 1.0 game on them up but lose the season series to Atlanta. In that reality, the Mets still control their fate, but things get murkier.

and just for the fun of it

*If the Mets go 6-0 and the Phillies go 0-6, New York takes the NL East crown.

Massive Mets/Braves series starts tonight.

Skubal pitched a gem for Detroit this afternoon, they are now a half game up on KC and a full game up on Minnesota

Also, saw this posted on Reddit. Scenarios for Seattle to get in..

Wow that is very hard to see

While keeping in mind how serious the situation with Helene could get, the Mets-Braves series will likely have to finish next week. Really likely the next 2 are postponed and even the Braves game Friday with the Royals is likely washed out too.
