Teams pursuing Benintendi were informed by the Royals of the Benintendi vax status awhile back. Many are still in. That includes even the Jays (as of yesterday) as they are apparently hopeful he may agree to get the vax if he’s dealt there.

Why are the Yankees suddenly not interested if they've known for awhile?

Matt Carpenter?

Carpenter should not play every day, especially in the OF

Yeah, but I was told that since Austin Riley was the reigning NL player of the week that he deserved an All-Star spot. Obviously this applies to the AL as well.

I also remember when he finished Top 3 in the MVP

Jeremy Pena has a higher WAR than all of them.

Riley has the second highest wRC+ of any player not in the game.

He’s slashing .286/.351/.570

Just curious, why do you think he’s not deserving?

Good thing for defense... his oWAR is lower. He does have some pop though

It's more of a joke as another Braves fan said he deserved it over those elected already and used that he was the Player of the Week as support

I think he should get in as a replacement. He wasn't more deserving than Machado or Arenado though.

Really though it was a joke because some Braves fan used his POTW award as a reason why he should have been selected.

Even though it might benefit my team, I hate adding another Wild Card spot in each league. It's pointless rewarding more teams that will finish around .500 when the season is so long. It doesn't benefit the game. Only the owners. Mediocrity shouldn't be rewarded. But that is what is going to happen more often with these needless extra playoff spots.

Rangers up 2-0 with nobody out on Seattle. They are about to be cooled down by the best team in baseball.

Freddie Freeman is 14 for his last 16 with four doubles and two home runs. Clearly being in LA is bothering him.

We just saw why Carpentar should not be in the OF no arm, no instincts, short fly ball allowed a runner to score

Yeah, Riley was robbed. I have no qualms saying it. He should be in. If you don't agree, well, we'll revisit at the end of the season when he's flirting w/40 bombs, hitting close to .300 w/a upper .800's OPS and has 110-115 RBI's and is in the thick of the MVP race.

I'll end up getting the last laugh. The kid can flat hit and he will be the Braves best overall hitter in 2 years(yes, even better than RAJ)
