They’ll judge shop to David Doty, or should. But Tony Clark isn’t that smart. They won’t win their grievance either.

Just like they lost the Bryant case

Actually it won't go before a judge. It will go before the same arbitrator that made the Bryant ruling.

Manfred is essentially a lame duck at this point no? The players are publicly ripping his arse, theres likely not going to be baseball this year and there's another labor negotiation upcoming that's likely eroded to the point of a lockout under his watch. I don't see how he doesn't get thrown under the bus as a point of negotiation in the next CBA.

All of this shite is being driven by like 3 or 4 owners. They don't want to play the season.

It's the same ones who don't want other teams to be able to spend more than them on talent so they are pushing for a salary cap, pushing to cut the minor leagues, shite Arte Moreno wanted to not have a draft at all this year.

The game is being held hostage by 3 or 4 absolute fricking cheapskates and the rest of the owners are going along with it because they're more concerned with losing a little this year (if that would even happen) than making a whole lot in future years by growing the fan base.

Moreno and Fisher are the obvious two of that group but I wonder who the other two are

I think its hilarious how the owners know they will lose this grievance so they are holding the season hostage because of that. But the players are the ones acting in bad faith

They didn't like the players forcing a lockout, so they decided to mandate that waiver that they know a lot of guys won't sign. How anyone can be on the owner's side on this is beyond me.

So, Rob, explain to us how you can be 100% sure that there’s going to be baseball but not confident there will be baseball at the same time? hmmm. What changed between those statements ???? Players told you to set the season, but it’s too early to set the season right now,

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Neither side is acting in good faith. This is nothing but a pissing match to get a leg up in negotiations for the new CBA. As far as I'm concerned, they're all a bunch of greedy assholes completely out of touch with reality. There will be a day when they all realize that they did a lot more financial damage to themselves long term than if they would have just sucked it up in the short term.

You can't possibly be that naive to think it's that simple. This is nothing but a negotiating tactic to try to get the general public on their side. They literally just rejected a proposal.

Look, I think the players should get their full prorated pay. I truly believe that if the owners were going to lose as much money as they're saying they will, they would happily open their books. But For the players to come out and say "all you have to do is tell us when to report" when they've been rejecting proposals because they won't budge off of that 100% is complete bullshite.

Man, I feel like the Braves ownership may be one of those who aren’t so gung-ho about playing. The Braves have been more of an accessory to them. It’s sad that the days of ownership similar to Ted Turner who really loved the game and the players are gone.

They’ve also let be known if it’s not enough games they will immediately file a grievance claim that potentially holds things up further..

And that happening has been known for a while now. So why did manfred go on ESPN last week and say that there would 100% be baseball this year, only to immediately change his opinion once players said just tell us when to show up?

They never wanted to play so they always lowballed the PA with offers it was never going to accept and now want to shift blame on them for potentially filing a grieverance that they were always going to file and acting like that has come from nowhere

They players aren’t under any obligation to accept further pay cuts. The owners, however, are under obligation to schedule as many games as possible. This isn’t being debated by either side. If the owners don’t want a grievance to be filed then they should do the right thing and pay the players for their work.

I don’t work for free and I don’t expect the players to do so either.
