Why do black voters have such a hard time presenting a valid ID?

This is how the media and the left mind works:

"Black people are such stupid fricking low IQ retards that they are too stupid and too dumb and have too low of IQs to do something like go get a free ID to show to a poll booth operator. How dare you white racists impose such a difficult hurdle for these idiot stupid low IQ group of voters out there. We progressive democrats understand that black people are so dumb, so stupid, so retarded that they are unable to figure out how to get an ID, so therefore we are going to oppose requiring an ID to vote."

As for requiring voter IDs...well here's the ACLU on that:
quote:

Voter ID Laws Deprive Many Americans of the Right to Vote
Millions of Americans Lack ID. 11% of U.S. citizens – or more than 21 million Americans – do not have government-issued photo identification.
Obtaining ID Costs Money. Even if ID is offered for free, voters must incur numerous costs (such as paying for birth certificates) to apply for a government-issued ID.
Underlying documents required to obtain ID cost money, a significant expense for lower-income Americans. The combined cost of document fees, travel expenses and waiting time are estimated to range from $75 to $175.
The travel required is often a major burden on people with disabilities, the elderly, or those in rural areas without access to a car or public transportation. In Texas, some people in rural areas must travel approximately 170 miles to reach the nearest ID office.
Voter ID Laws Reduce Voter Turnout. A 2014 GAO study found that strict photo ID laws reduce turnout by 2-3 percentage points, which can translate into tens of thousands of votes lost in a single state.

quote:

Voter ID Laws Are Discriminatory
Minority voters disproportionately lack ID. Nationally, up to 25% of African-American citizens of voting age lack government-issued photo ID, compared to only 8% of whites.
States exclude forms of ID in a discriminatory manner. Texas allows concealed weapons permits for voting, but does not accept student ID cards. Until its voter ID law was struck down, North Carolina prohibited public assistance IDs and state employee ID cards, which are disproportionately held by Black voters. And until recently, Wisconsin permitted active duty military ID cards, but prohibited Veterans Affairs ID cards for voting.
Voter ID laws are enforced in a discriminatory manner. A Caltech/MIT study found that minority voters are more frequently questioned about ID than are white voters.
Voter ID laws reduce turnout among minority voters. Several studies, including a 2014 GAO study, have found that photo ID laws have a particularly depressive effect on turnout among racial minorities and other vulnerable groups, worsening the participation gap between voters of color and whites.

quote:

Voter ID Requirements are a Solution in Search of a Problem
In-person fraud is vanishingly rare. A recent study found that, since 2000, there were only 31 credible allegations of voter impersonation – the only type of fraud that photo IDs could prevent – during a period of time in which over 1 billion ballots were cast.
Identified instances of “fraud” are honest mistakes. So-called cases of in-person impersonation voter “fraud” are almost always the product of an elections worker or a voter making an honest mistake, and that even these mistakes are extremely infrequent.
Voter ID laws are a waste of taxpayer dollars. States incur sizeable costs when implementing voter ID laws, including the cost of educating the public, training poll workers, and providing IDs to voters.
Texas spent nearly $2 million on voter education and outreach efforts following passage of its Voter ID law.
Indiana spent over $10 million to produce free ID cards between 2007 and 2010.

Ah, the old fall back line for Boomers and....sigh...early Gen Xers.

It's probably also just a coincidence that Sunday early voting is being limited to a single Sunday when historically Black churches get out the vote with their Souls to the Polls campaign on those days.

When you look at the history of this country with regard to minorities and voting, and then you look at what Republicans are doing, I don't know how you can even downplay the racial component.

It's not like it's a case of "oh gee...we were just trying to suppress the Democratic vote. You mean this legislation is also going to disproportionately affect POCs too?" They damn well know exactly who they're impacting and they don't care. They're perfectly fine with furthering the racial inequality that continues to exist.

And I guess the history of doing things like closing polling places and getting rid of drop boxes in areas that are predominantly Black or Brown is probably just an attempt to limit Democratic votes, too. Not racist at all.

If you're going to argue that Republicans don't want Black people to vote because they vote for Democrats, then you need to also ask why they vote Democrat. And why Republicans aren't interested in winning their vote as opposed to suppressing it.

Bull shite.

And McMillian thinks that black people are sooooooo stupid, so dumb, so moronic that they can't get IDs.

McMillian also likely believes that we should not prosecute people for theft because there are people out there who are so oppressed by our racist society that they have no choice but to steal.

That’s just too damn bad. Showing an ID is the most basic of basic. If you can’t do that, then you don’t vote. If you want to vote, get a free ID. Simple. Consider it as part of your registering to vote.

Drop boxes should be removed because no excuse mail in voting should not be allowed. I want drop boxes removed in white areas just as much as in black or brown areas.

We have it so good right now in the US that we are having to fricking invent “injustices” to complain about

I'm sorry, but if you're so fricking terrible with money that you can't ever obtain a state issued ID for $25, then you're too stupid and lazy to have a say in this country's issues.

I would be willing to bet that the same people who don't have an ID because it's too expensive have flatscreens, Jordans, and a liquor cabinet stocked with Hennessy.

I have had my tickets for this quite a while and I have a whole vacation planned around this. If they do this shite I will never ever watch another baseball game. It will be the last straw and I will be done.

Not only should you need an id to vote, you should need to own property. You shouldn’t be able to vote to steal from others. Universal suffrage has been a bust.

I'm sure the MLB will be pulling games from state requiring proof of vaccination any minute.

Now let's really give this some teeth and sue the MLB for anit-trust violations, time for clownary to experience consequences.
