Now that he’s in Andruw Jones has to be a shoe in.

Andruw should of been in years ago.

Baseball writers are douchebags.

He's gonna have to get in the same way McGriff got in b/c the writers aren't gonna do it.

Andruw will get in. He’s at 58% with 4 years to go. He just jumped 18 percentage points with only 17 to go. He will get in the year after next, with a slight chance of getting in next year.

It’s just ridiculous that so many voted for Rolen and not Andruw. It’s a bad look for the writers to be so inconsistent.

I didn't see this posted anywhere.

We could see a drastic overhaul of MLB’s broadcast revenues with a potential Sinclair bankruptcy filing, as the firm looks at a $8.6 billion debt restructuring that could interrupt and decrease team payments.

The sports-broadcasting giant is looking at a Chapter 11 filing, allowing it to restructure some $8.6 billion in debt. It also allows the giant to skip some debt payments and seek to renegotiate broadcast deals with teams partnering with Bally Sports.

That is a lot of teams. I wonder if this means the broadcast rights can go to another company...

Braves extend manager Brian Snitker through 2025. Which would put him at 70.

Snit gets extended

quote:

The Braves announced Friday they’ve signed manager Brian Snitker to an extension through the 2025 season. He’d been headed into the final guaranteed year of his contract, which also contained an option for 2024. Atlanta has preemptively triggered that option and tacked on an additional season for the Illinois native

There is no one. Nobody wants these RSNs.

Bally (Sinclair Diamond Sports) 14 teams

NBC Sportsnets 4 teams

AT&T Sportsnet 4 teams

Marquee Sports Network (50% Cubs, 50% Sinclair)

MASN (77% Orioles 23% Nationals)

NESN (80% owned by Red Sox ownership)

Spectrum SN (50% Dodgers, 50% Spectrum)

SNY Mets (65% Wilpons company, 27% Charter, 8% NBC)

YES (26% Yankees, 20% Sinclair, 15% Amazon, 29% others)

Sinclair Sports is obviously near death. AT&T dumped their RSNs into the Warner-Discovery deal. The new company hasn't bothered to rebrand the AT&T moniker almost 2 years later which signals they don't think it's worth spending that money and they're probably looking to divest. NBC Comcast has previously indicated an interest in selling their RSNs.

There's been rumors of MLB, NBA and NHL teaming up to buy the Bally properties and put together a streaming service. My guess is we'll see that trio buy Bally out of bankruptcy, buy AT&T Sportsnet from WB Discovery and potentially NBC SNs.

Nobody wants it when it’s headed toward Chapter 11 because why would you. There will be plenty of interest out of that

Rangers signed Clint Frazier and Danny Duffy to minor league deals.

Very interested to see if Frazier has anything to offer. I remember when he was considered a trade target going into 2020.
