This is the 4th time the Rangers have shelled out a $100M contract worth at least $25M in AAV (Alex Rodriguez in 2000, Corey Seager & Marcus Semien last December). That's tied with the Dodgers and Mets for the most contracts of that nature ever handed out.

Not when DeGrom is gonna be 35 next season and hasn't thrown 100 innings in a season since 2019.

The Padres have had two in-person meetings with Trea Turner, sources tell me and ?@Ken_Rosenthal?. San Diego appears to have legitimate interest in signing the star shortstop.

The Padres are wild.

Per sources, Bryan Reynolds has requested a trade from the Pirates.

Some context: Motive is unclear at this point. It also doesn't sound like the Pirates are immediately moving to ship off Reynolds. Letting offseason play out as it otherwise would.

Meyers is probably trade bait now that Click was shown the door. Add one of the AAA catchers and Urquidy. That's more than equitable.

Can we aford to sign Reynolds and Contreras?

The #Pirates are listening on trade proposals for outfielder Bryan Reynolds, who formally requested a trade, but the asking price remains quite steep, rival GMs say, and they do not anticipate he will be moved.

Update on Sean Murphy: it still appears Oakland is close to a trade, but the Braves are NOT going to be the acquiring team, per source. The Cardinals, Rays, Guardians and Red Sox are among the teams that have been connected to Murphy in recent weeks.

Hopefully it's done soon, want the Cards to get their C done early. Perfectly fine with Murphy, big offensive upgrade and elite framer like Yadi was.

Why would the braves be in on a catcher? and with what prospects?

The Mets are among the teams talking with free agent Andrew Benintendi, The Post has learned.

The Yankees would like to reunite with Benintendi and he is a much more natural fit with them or the Astros or several other clubs pursuing the lefty swinger.
