Bummed the Cubs didnt re-sign Davis. He was money.

Great move for the Rockies though

Davis is very risky to me but kudos to the Rockies for having a clear plan for this offseason and their ownership willing to spend to execute it

Will be interesting to see where Holland goes now as I think most people assumed he was going back to Colorado

Rockies are my side team since Ive lived in CO. Last season and this one coming has been the most Ive gotten excited about them in a while.

Like you said it seems there is a clear plan going forward, and the Monfort’s are putting down some dough to make it happen

It makes sense, they have a young but promising rotation that is cheap right now. Spend to stack up the bullpen behind it, and I think they could use a cheaper backend vet that could eat innings, someone like Jason Vargas, Jaime Garcia or Hellickson

They have the system to go get a starter at the deadline if it comes to that

Don't be shocked if there is a lockout in 2021

I was hoping the STL would sign Davis. I didn’t expect him to get that much though.

Holland was horrible after the break. I wonder why there is seemingly no interest in Moustakas?

And an all star before the break, most relate his 2nd half to coming back from TJ surgery and not having the stamina built back up for the full season and don't consider it an issue going forward. CO probably should have used him less early on to save him for later in the year.

We'll either sign him or trade for Colome.

Stanton to NY, was only way this was possible, but i'm hearing Dodgers will make a big play for him, and have the $$$$ coming off the books to offer him $ that the Cubs could only dream of offering.

I’d be OK signing Reed. I wonder what the trade for Colome would be? I doubt Rays would want Grichuk.

The Cubs are about to get a multi-billion dollar TV deal. Money comparable to the Dodgers will be there.

It'll all just depend on where he wants to get paid 400+ million.

I miss the days when I could watch every Scrubs/White Sox game on WGN or Braves game on TBS.

I do wonder with these contracts going up and up and up, how much it'll factor in for LA taxes.

How much would he lose over other places just for taxes on a $400m deal?

As a Raiders fan I've read quite a bit about that factor in the NFL with them going from Oakland to tax free Vegas already popping up in long term talks with players.

depends. He would lose a little under 20 million with the cubs and would lose a little over 53 million with the dodgers

Dodgers tv deal is a disaster for TWC, do you really think with cable going to crap, that someone will give the cubs hundreds of millions a year for a decade plus?
