And so was Berkman in 2011. Rays want to dump his contract, so the cost wouldn’t be all that high.

Berkman was a free agent, who wanted to play in St.Louis and make a run at a title. Rays 3b, is aging, and has a lot of money owed, and a no trade about to come in to fruition.

My point was about his age. Not whether he was a free agent or not. Berkman was 35 in 2011. Longoria will be 36 at the end of the deal. Molina is 34, and still going strong. If the cost isn’t all that high I would do it.

Piscotty has been traded to the A's. Apparently for two MiBs but they didn't mention who.

I liked him 2 years ago. I don’t really like moving him when his value is low.

Heavy indications from multiple angles that Cardinals are close to deal for Colome+Longoria that could come together as soon as Thursday.

Piscotty feels like the type of player the tears it up under the radar in Oakland for whatever reason

He might, but at least he is with his mom regardless now.

Nothing much at all for Longoria, Colome I'm not really sure what it takes this offseason to get a top flight closer. Haven't seen any rumors of players yet either.

I've seen they really like Grichuk so I would imagine he is part of it.

I’m ready to move on from Grichuk anyway. I like what Bader brought to the team in his brief callup.

Yeah Grichuk can move on, have a couple others similar to him and he got his shot.

Cards getting a lot of love on social media for sending Piscotty to be with his mom.

What are you going to do with your Piscotty jersey? I think he will rebound nicely this year.

I'll keep it, still a fan of his and hope he does well in Oakland.

Kintzler returning to the Nats

Angels now targeting 3B...rumors of pursuing Headley from San Diego (they not worried about pitching?)

White Sox have reportedly made the strongest offer to Baltimore for Machado which is kinda weird

Awesome to see STL send Piscotty to the Bay Area to be with his mother. Nice to see an organization place an emphasis on family over the game, really was a nice gesture by them.

Nationals caught a deal with Kintzler, surprised his contract is that low when others are getting more.
quote:

The deal guarantees Kintzler $10MM over a two-year term, Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports reports (Twitter link). He can earn up to $16MM if certain incentives are met and a third-year club option is exercised. Kintzler’s 2018 salary will be $5MM.

The #Orioles are moving aggressively on Manny Machado trade talks and now believe they can move him by the end of the week with the strength of their offers
