Damn, Diamondbacks quickly turned on Grienke?

Marlins don’t want to move him though.

Were the Diamondbacks GM that stupid they didn’t see this day coming when they signed him?

It was a different GM

Seems like a dumb move to me from the start regardless of who the GM was.

Yeah seems kinda strange considering how good of a season Arizona just had

Perhaps why there’s a different GM now
That’s a huge financial commitment for a franchise like there’s. They never should have done it in the first place

Agree with you there. Still seems like it’d be smarter to hold onto him for maybe another wild card run this year and/or next
Odds are very high they could trade him to a contender at the deadline any year that they’re out of the hunt

they are probably coming to the realization of "holy shite he will be paid for another 9 years" and are looking at a way to get rid of it. they probably think theyll be ok with ray, godley, and corbin

I wouldn’t be very happy hearing this if I was a Diamondbacks fan. Especially if the Diamondbacks have to take on another high priced bum to get rid of him.

Marlins have a lot more leverage with Ozuna. Whether it’s Ozuna or someone else, the price is going to be steep.

Wonder if teams knew this before bidding
Posted on 12/13/17 at 5:43 am to tduecen
Yes they did know. They reported to teams he received plasma injections in his elbow as recently as October. Apparently it’s just a sprained ligament and that isn’t significant. Angels GM said their MRI came back positive without showing anything severe.
