In 2001 and 2002 the Rangers had prime A-Rod, Pudge, Rafael Palmeiro, Juan Gonzalez, Rusty Greer, and Michael Young in the same lineup and still finished last. That's 4 different AL MVPs and a batting title champion. Pitching matters most

Right-handed reliever Daniel Hudson and the Los Angeles Dodgers are nearing an agreement on a one-year deal, sources tell ESPN. When completed, it’s expected to be for around $7 million.

Seager sure has mediocre production and an injury history to give pause to be considered a 30+ mil guy.

Baseball needs a hard cap badly.

That's historically what they do: either win (or lose) 15-14, or lose 15-1.

As a Rangers fan, couldn’t be more pleased with the organizations willingness to finally spend money again.

Corey Seager, and Marcus Semien puts rangers in contention for best offseason. Pair that with a solid pitcher in Jon Gray, and a decent OF in Calhoun and things are starting to look up again. Rangers also still have about 24 million to spend if they want to. I expect the Rangers to land another guy or 2.

Games available is huge for a production standpoint otherwise you’re paying out the arse for loads of missed games over game. Dude has been in the league 5 non-Covid seasons and missed 17 games in 2017. 136 games in 2018. 28 games in 2019. And 67 more games this season. Not very reliable at all and these have been his 20s seasons.

6 years, 140 million

The deal also includes an opt-out, according to the source. It would be the second-largest free-agent deal in Tigers franchise history. (Prince Fielder signed a nine-year, $214 million deal with Detroit in January 2012.)

That's technically true, but Miguel Cabrera signed two different extensions with the Tigers worth more than $140M. Verlander as well.
