Several years ago, someone did a game starting in black and white, and gradually adding new angles, graphics, and color every inning as they went along.

I remember the Cubs did this on WGN…

major black southern city

Atlanta hasn't been majority-minority for close to two decades now. The population of the city limits has gentrified greatly in that time.

Atlanta is 38% white according to the 2020 census. It is by definition a majority minority city. Also who cares.

Blacks no longer make up more than 50% It's 46.7% as if 2020, which is down from 54% in 2010. The white population jumped from 30% in 1990 to 38.3% in 2020. Thus, it's not a majority-minority city anymore.

It's not that hard to understand.

There is more than one minority in this country you don’t understand what the definition of a majority minority place is. It’s not that big of a deal.

If a minority group doesn't make up over 50% of a population, then by definition it isn't majority-minority. The city did fit that definition just a decade ago, it doesn't now. Gentrification is real inside Atlanta and has been for the last 15 years.

There are multiple minority groups in America. If those minority groups combine to make up over 50%, a place by is considered majority minority by the US Census, like Atlanta, New York, LA, Houston, the state of Texas, etc

quote:

relating to a population in which more than half represent social, ethnic, or racial minorities, and in which fewer members of the more socially, politically, or financially dominant group are represented

LINK

quote:

In the United States of America, majority-minority area or minority-majority area is a term describing a U.S. state or jurisdiction whose population is composed of less than 50% non-Hispanic whites. Racial data is derived from self-identification questions on the U.S. census and on U.S. Census Bureau estimates.

Probs, they came in from the outfield which is the southern part of the stadium and the anthem was played around that time

Loved the game! Would’ve paid $600 a ticket. Hope they do it again next year.

like a stadium built in 1910 to have a few rough edges and character. Very noticeable modern changes.
I’m assuming they’re going to play more games (at other levels) there? If so there has to be modernization… MLB didn’t drop money into it for it to be forgotten again after one night in the spotlight

What’s next for one of these events?
We’ve had little league game which is annual, game at college World Series, field of dreams game, hall of fame game, Rickwood game.

It would be neat to have a cape cod game where a lot of players have gotten their start

Cape Cod is a great idea. They will come up with others (and do more games in Iowa and Rickwood I bet). It was a great idea by MLB to do these, basically their version of the NHL outdoor classic games

They should go back to Doubleday Field in Cooperstown IMO

It's a shame we no longer have the Polo Grounds or Ebbets Field or Tiger Stadium

Those would be fun sites for one off games like this if those sites were preserved

Tiger Stadium in particular is a shame because it lasted a while. I’m sure it was extremely run down by the time they moved but it looked cool as shite on TV
