Yep absolutely. Their lifeblood is the minor league system. Developing pitching and signing or trading for cheap bats has worked well for them. They are the model the Rockies should use but were and maybe still are too stupid to do it

#Rays bolstering bullpen depth by acquiring LHP Garrett Cleavinger from #Dodgers. Mostly at AAA this season, has 47 Ks in 29 IP. Rays give up German Tapia, 18-year-old OF with DSL team.

Brewers also have made Kolten Wong and Lefty batting catcher Omar Narvaez
IMO Narvaez is interesting for a team that might have a catcher that hits lefties well already as a platoon guy.

Dodgers’ trade of LHP Garrett Cleavinger to Rays for rookie-ball OF German Tapia, as first reported by @TBTimes_Rays, is a move designed to clear a 40-man spot for LAD. Could be filled by an addition in next 28 hours. Team also has players it wants to add to 40-man this winter.

Interesting lotto ticket for the dodgers. 18 years old, walks more than he strikesout

Mets and White Sox in on Andrew Chafin from the Tigers

Padres extend Joe Musgrove. 5 years $100m

Two clubs who’ve talked to Mets came away with impression they’re not willing to move prospects Vientos, Mauricio and Ramirez for a rental player. That’s in addition to Alvarez and Baty, obviously. Mets so far holding firm on position re: trading prospects we reported last night

SOURCE: The #Cardinals are intensifying pursuing on Juan Soto. They have been much more aggressive of late in their trade proposals.
#Padres and #Dodgers also continue to offer their best prospect packcages to the #Nationals.

If the Cardinals truly went for it I don't believe any other team could top Walker/Winn/Carlson/Gorman as the foundation of a package

The Mets have made it very clear that they DON'T WANT TO PAY. Let's see how that works out for them. They have an obvious need at catcher, so do another 3-4 teams.

I'm thinking that the Padres got took by the Brewers. Hader is on the downward track.

That guy has put a lot of stuff out that changes by the day lol

Absolutely. Got a decent closer + prospects for another decent closer.
I wouldn’t want to pay Hader what he’s going to want to get paid.

Every team I hate is in on Soto today. Figures.

They dont want to rape the top of the farm system for rentals, I dont hate it.
We aren't trying to build a all in for this season team, we are trying build the Dodgers. He said as much when he bought the team. You need a deep farm system to do that and we are very top heavy at the moment.
I have no problem losing Mauricio, he is blocked anyway and Vientos is a DH Im not too worried about him either, but Alvarez, Baty and Ramirez you do not trade for a rental. Sorry Cubbies, two months of WC isnt worth that.

Not sure why the Nat would want Winn, their top prospect is a SS.
I keep going back and forth on this. While getting Soto is big for the offense, in 2-4 years its more likely than not Gorman, DC, and Walker will be every day players going for 20-30 hr each.
