He's the definition of a cuck.

And I generally hate that word and think it's overused, but it 100% applies here.

He was also a big Corona bro.

Ok. Braves on the clock and ESPN has Drew Gilbert as best available now. Comes from my school and has the baggage of playing for a team that was genuinely hated. Interested to see where we go.

The Braves usually stay away from "me" guys and douches in general.

And I will completely understand if they pass.

To me, Jordan Beck has the better upside and less of a “me” guy. Could be a good 35th overall.

Gilbert is a talented player but he’s got way too big of a douchebag rep for the Braves to take him imo. Apart from RAJ (and Heredia lol), all the Braves players are pretty humble dudes

I don’t disagree on Gilbert. Won’t be surprised if they pass.

I'd rather Beck than Gilbert given the baseball baggage.

Will never forget how he acted like a 12 YO that won his first game of the season after going 0-27 after the LSU W last year.

Braves pick is somewhat curious.

Anyone know much about our guy?

Apparently .12 era 137Ks over 58 innings in this past HS year but obviously wasn’t tested frequently? Idk never heard of him

He's a SS/P, which means the Braves will turn him into a P.

They probably under-slotted him.

No one should doubt the Braves drafting. They are one of the best run organizations in pro sports for a reason.

Kid the Mariners picked up is a fellow Yinzer. From North Allegheny High in Wexford, PA. Which is also the alma mater of one Christina Aguilera.

This has nothing to do with this thread but I’m going to Pittsburgh in September for a couple Cardinals games and the Tenn-Pitt game. Pretty excited about it. Never been.

Super athletic prep pitcher. Would have played both ways at ND. Folks are pretty high on him and I think was supposed to be a tough sign before the ND coach left for FSU. I feel like Atlanta has done well with the cold weather prep pitchers lately (Anderson, Soroka, I’m sure I’m forgetting others)

With the 20th pick of the draft, #Braves select RH Owen Murphy of Riverside Brookfield HS in Illinois. Notre Dame commit.

David O'Brien

@DOBrienATL

Murphy has a mid-90s FB, good slider, curve and developing changeup. Also an outstanding hitter in HS, the 6-1, 195-pound pitcher/shortstop could have been taken in top five rounds as a hitter, according to some evaluators. Also a good HS quarterback.

The Braves and pitchers are like the Steelers and LB's; they churn them out like butter.

You will love it.

Pittsburgh is a great city. A lot of culture. Very underrated food town.

Make sure you ride the Duquense Incline up Mt.Washington while you're there.
