To think there is zero chance he can be better than MJ is way more absurd, and shows that you're simply not watching what he is doing this year.
i have been watching and its been great to watch, but he will need to hardware to go along with it

If Lebron does THIS 4 more years, you can't possibly say it's "absurd" to think he's better than MJ.
this won't last 4 years like he is doing now

Why so absolute? He's only 28. 3 years ago people were saying LeBron would never win a title. Speaking in such absolutes is rarely a good choice.

the miles, unless he takes some years off. At this age he compared to MJ he had more games logged in the NBA. It will be like when Kobe hit his decline still good but not lights out anymore. Lebron this season has been a treat to watch but to think he can keep this up into his 30's with all the playoffs games and such is nuts.

I don't like comparing it to Kobe because their games are different. LeBron is a much better finisher around the rim than Kobe because of his size. I think it'll help sustain his elite level longer. I think you're going to end up being wrong about this, but we won't know until things play out. With the way LeBron's game is evolving I can easily see him playing at a similar level for a handful more years.

thats my point the hits take it toll over the years going to the basket. He has been blessed to not have a major injury or operation so far. Kobe who's game is much more like MJ's hit a decline like all players do. Lebron takes much more of beating b/c his style of play it will eventually catch up to him.

Karl Malone played at a high level through 37 (If you wanted to go by seasons played that'd be when LeBron is 33, which is 4 more years), and he's the same size as LeBron and took just as much of a beating. The beating is easier to withstand because of his size. Not only that but LeBron is such a special athlete and physical specimen that saying he's definitely going to age in X way seems odd. Every player ages slightly differently. LeBron may begin his decline at 30 or he may begin it at 34. There is evidence to suggest both is possible.

you can't even compare their style of play. Things like quickness and exploding to the basket will decline with age and the hits he takes will only speed that up. Lebron might be the same size but he is much leaner than Malone whos body was built for banging bodies down low.

So, when I hear statements like Lebron is more athletic than Jordan, am I not supposed to laugh uncontrollably?

MJ would beat Lebron one on one, even though Lebron has every advantage in size speed and skill.
Yeah makes perfect sense that he would lose

Another thing. We're arguing them both in their prime. LeBron might just be easing into his prime. He might get a little better than he already is which is scary.

Lebron is bigger than MJ, fact. Please explain how he is more athletic than MJ. I hear this repeated constantly. So much, that I think people just take it as fact without even thinking about it.

I honestly hope Lebron somehow ends up winning 7 titles, so everyone will think he is better then Jordan.

Kind of hope he doesn't. "Count the rings" is my litmus test for basketball discussions.

I have never met someone that was old enough to really watch Jordan play, that even considers this a discussion
Eta: save for espn talking heads trying to push ratings.
