Against the likes of Fraizer and Ali I think his lack of length would really hurt him. They are just too good of technical fighters to get in street brwals with him they'd just jab him to death

Frazier is no taller than 5'11", and didn't have real long arms. Took a lot of punches in order to get close enough to land his own.

Marvis Frazier specialized in getting beat downs from heavyweight champions

He unwisely taunted Larry Holmes at the beginning of their fight in 1983. By the end of round one, though, Holmes whipped him nearly to death.

For those who are interested, the taunting starts at 2:25. The beat down starts at 4:08 and turns epic at 4:40:

"Rope -A -Dope" would never have worked on Tyson like it did Foreman who punched himself out missing on most of those punches.

Ali would never have Rope-A-Doped Tyson....he would have used his foot work and superior boxing skills and length to beat Tyson.

I'm a Tyson fan.....but Tyson was greatly benefitted by a talent poor heavy weight division.

IMHO Ali, Foreman, and Lennox Lewis were better.

Foreman's size, granite chin, and sledge hammer jab would have worn Tyson down and Lewis' ability to control spacing would have been extremely difficult for Tyson to handle even in his prime.

Like seriously who was the best boxer he ever beat down?

I would say Frank Bruno.

or Michael Spinks....but Spinks was really a light heavyweight fighting as a heavyweight.

Tysons opponents were hand picked chumps and cowards. Journey men and sparring partners.

He dodged Foreman and bowe for years and once Evander beat bowe & foreman tyson still didnt want either of them. Evander, Lewis beat him down convincingly. He looked incredible beating a bunch of cowards and nobodys with many taking a dive along the way.

I disagree that Tyson dodged those guys. Bowe, Evander, and Foreman came along after Tyson fell from grace and was having problems.

Heavyweight division was down and also fighters steered away from King because he demanded rights to the fighters next fights.

Not true at all, Evander has chased tyson from when they were amateurs, he got his hands on tyson and whooped him bad enough that tyson dodged him for a decade.

Ok didn't realize that. I was thinking Evander moved up from Cruiserweight after Douglas beat Tyson.

No, that's not at all what happened. They never fought as amateurs, they were in different weight classes.

Tyson was suppose to defend his title against Holyfield, but was upset by Buster Douglas. Holyfield then took the title from Douglas. Both Holyfield and Tyson had tune up fights, before they were set to meet for the title.(Fight poster were printed up)

Tyson was then arrested for rape, when he got out off prison he had 4 fights before him and Holyfield fought. Holyfield then defeated him twice in six months, back to back fights.

Tyson's best victory was Michael Spinks. Spinks won the Gold Gloves and Olympic Gold Medal, won 93 amateur career. As a professional he unified the Light-Heavyweight title by beating all 3 champions. After 10 title defenses he defeated Larry Holmes in consecutive fights to win the Heavyweight title. Spinks only lost once in his 32 pro fights.

Tyson had most fighters beat before the bell rang.

I remember watching the Marvis Frazier fight. I literally though Tyson had killed him in the ring.

To bad he was a retard and went down the wrong path in life and let that destroy his boxing. Had he kept going with his original crew and cus stayed alive he would probably be the greatest ever. I dont think ali could have beaten him when he was up and coming.

It would be interesting to see how Tyson would have fared in the 70s when the 2nd tier HWs were guys like Shavers, Lyle, Jimmy Young. None of those guys would've been intimidated by the Iron Mike mystique.

When he was up and coming i think he would have done fine against those guys. Forman and maybe a younger larry holmes would be the guys i think he would have had to worry about just because they were so big and skilled. But as mentioned he was a diff fighter when he was younger. His defense was as good as his offense which later all just turned into him taking shots looking for the home run shot.

No.

Cus and the original crew built him up fighting 2nd tier fighters.

Tyson maxed out his ability. He was fun to watch and a HOFer but nowhere near the GOAT.

In the end Lennox Lewis was a better heavyweight than Tyson.

Tyson in his prime would have destroyed Lewis. An aging Tyson fought Lennox in his prime.

If not for the jail time, he would have held the title for 9-10 years.
