Mike Tyson with D'Amato/Rooney was the most dominating boxer I've ever seen in my life. His speed, power and defense at that time was just ungodly for a heavyweight. Tyson slowly turned into a sloppy headhunter after canning Rooney imo.

Never fought anyone.
He fought some great heavyweights, but the only one he beat was Spinks.

Would any of you pay to see Tyson fight again at 48yo?
It would be a worthless reality television level joke.
He's 27 years past his peak as a boxer and as an undersized man he fought with a style that just wasn't going to work as he aged, slowed, and continued to fight with men who were 6, 8, or more inches taller than him.
He was amazing at his peak and fought with a fury and style that were made for heavyweight entertainment and awe... but it is gone and it has been gone for 20 years.

To this day I still never beat him in punch out.
Dude. I still have my nintendo. When I get drunk enough I fire it up and play shite like tecmo bowl and punch out and that olpyics game where you use the pad and cheat by just beating on the pad with your hands
after the maywearther fight i got pretty tipsy and put in punch out. still can't beat this motherfricker. like you can't beat him. anyone who says they beat tyson is lying.
Beating tyson in punch out, landing that fricking plane on top gun lol, and getting past that water level on the original ninja turtles are 3 things that if someone says they've done i know they are full of shite

He was the most technical power puncher ever. Such a beast.
Yes he was... However he would have to knock out some of the greats in the 1st three rounds or he would be in big trouble..........

that look on dude's face when he gets rocked at the 2:35 mark

As far as all time heavyweights if you put both in their prime, i think ali was too good of a technical fighter for tyson. he was too fast and his defense to good and he has a good amount of reach on him, and he can take a punch
I think in his prime he would have ripped the bigger slower heavyweights to pieces though. Against the likes of Fraizer and Ali I think his lack of length would really hurt him. They are just too good of technical fighters to get in street brwals with him they'd just jab him to death

Tyson had great power but he was not a great fighter.

I watched that hour long video on his Youtube channel the other day. I think the thing that amazed me, besides the knockouts, was that from the time he was 18 until he won his first title he was fighting like every 2 weeks. I remember watching Tyson, but I was 5 when his career began so I never knew the frequency in which he fought at the beginning of his career.

He had great head movement to go with that power. He was hard to hit

That's why I said he would have to get some of the greats in the 1st three rounds.....

Mike Tyson with D'Amato/Rooney
This was key. Tyson was fragile mentally and needed them to keep his head in the game. Once they were gone that was it. King, women, money, fame, etc just took their toll. I was a kid when I was watching him fight at Caesar's and was amazed at his skill even then.

If Cus could have stayed alive for 5 more years, there. Would be zero question of who the greatest of all time was.
