Just saw he gave his, “I’m a man, I’m 40” speech exactly 18 years ago this week. It took place on September 22, 2007.

They just lost 69-3 and then lost to Tulsa...

Then fire him Sunday morning

To let him have his weekly presser on Monday then fire today is odd

Probably had to get some ducks in a row money wise. I am sure he is owed money

15 mil now vs 10 mil at the end of the season

Gundy doesn't seem like the type to play lame duck and probably told them to shove it when they asked him to coach out the season

Would've figured they let him finish the season.

Ouch. He'd probably have been a lifer had they beaten Iowa State in 2011.

I will die saying their kicker made that FG.

They should've fired him at the end of last year when he went 3-9. But they didn't for some reason
Probably because they were coming off a 10 win season in 2023 and went 12-2 in 2021. That's historically good for OSU.

Its like the equivalent of a coach going somewhere like Mississippi State and turning them into a team that consistently wins 8-10 games a year and then calling for their firing after one season of 3-9. Then wonder what happened when you spend the next decade back as a conference bottom feeder and going through 3 different coaches in that span.

Coaching Changes board should have been opened this morning as soon as the New York Liberty fired their coach

They were an absolute bottom feeder.

They just got beat by Oregon like it was Oregon's homecoming and they paid some SunBelt school $2 million to take the arse kicking. Then immediately followed that up by losing to Tulsa.

Their last 4 Big12 losses going back to last year have been by 21, 25, 8, and 52. They are just not competing and Gundy has had zero answer for a while now.

This. Or somebody told him to actually do his job instead of dicking around like he's been doing the last two seasons and he continued to refuse.

Dabo isn’t getting fired after one bad season.

He’s been in 4 National Title games, won 2, and was in the playoff last year

$60M reasons why Dabo's seat isn't as hot as you might think it is

He wasn't perfect by any means and his last two teams were garbage, but they were always a competitive high octane offense that could knock off anybody.

He's in Leach territory for me for just one of my all time favorite coaches that was mid tier, but fun to have in the sport.

His fall, and maybe Dabo's if it keeps going like this into 2026 and beyond, should be studied a bit.

Not much to study. They were extremely successful, relative to their programs ceilings, in the prior era of college football.

In the bidding war, transfer portal, no salary cap era, not so much.

Everybody loves poking fun at these guys but I find it kinda sad that their way doesn't work anymore. Says a lot about what the sport has become.
