This talk of Self needing to retire is hilarious. 4 years removed from a national title. Comes across more as y’all hope he retires rather than he needs to.
I get it, he’s one of the great coaches of all time, but one sweet 16 in 7 years at KU isn’t acceptable. It’s clear that he’s lost his fastball. He hasn’t adjusted to the portal era very well and it shows.

This Iowa Florida game is really surprising

He is just talking out of his arse.
Self can’t construct his archetypical roster like he did before NIL when players stayed for 3-4 years (good ones, anyway). The portal players since 2023 (especially the guards and Dickinson) have been major busts.

Florida got some key dogs with 3-4 fouls.

Its a bad matchup for Florida.
They turn it over at a high rate and Iowa plays slow

Refs starting to call a lot of touch foul trash after allowing the most ruggedly physical play possible

Yep. Iowa needs to attack Condon and send him to the bench with 4

I just don't think it's nearly as bad as you all think it is, he's had down years and players that didnt pan out. Would you feel the same if he won today?
It’s not “as bad as it seems” because Kansas is still having 20+ win seasons and making the tournament. These aren’t supposed to be “down seasons” with the rankings of the classes being pulled and the results becoming more identical in a negative way.
Even pulling out a win today wouldn’t fix those problems in the long run. We played like shite and were getting blown out by an opponent who also played like shite, only to come back and lose on a buzzer beater. It basically just felt like losing multiple games in 40 minutes.

The big for Iowa is giving the game to Florida.

If Iowa makes that same play on defense they are calling a foul
Posted on 3/22/26 at 8:02 pm to Jrv2damac
NCAA isn’t going to let Iowa win…lots of no calls going Floridas way.

Reminds me of last year’s national championship game
