This is a huge argument against making a splurge for him. If he's the only threat he's not nearly going to be as effective, gameplanning entirely around a sub-250lb tweener isn't nearly as big a struggle as it is against actual balanced DEs like Garrett, Watt, Bosa, and Crosby

This is a mediocre front office thinking they can fill a big hole by throwing money at it. We know he's never earning that contract

During his four years in Dallas, the Cowboys defense ranked first in the league in Expected Points per Play when Micah was on the field. First.

They were ranked 31st when he wasn’t one the field.

That is a huge difference across a four year sample size. However, a big criticism of Parsons is that he would slow down and wear out towards the end of each season. He either wasn’t on the field at key moments, or wasn’t as effective as the season wore on, especially in critical late in the season, including playoff games.

You know Jerruh has at least thought about using the hard R version for thinking he went back on the handshake deal

If they get multiple first plus this is probably one of the best moves the cowboys have made recently. They need to kick Dak the frick out of there and get that horrendous contract on their books

I know Jerry a a-hole… but Micah should have been clear with his agent he needs to be in Dallas…
star won’t burn as bright regardless of what you do in Wisconsin… after this year the sport shows and podcasts won’t spend a 1/3 of their time talking about you everyday… Herschel Walker was just as much of a star as Parson is… if the Cowboys happen to be good Parson will regret this move his whole career

That's some Cowboys exceptionalism copium. Packers are a national brand as well so he'll be lauded if he maintains his great play but won't have every game hyperanalyzed like the Cowboys do. Jimmy Johnson is gone so he'll almost certainly win more too.

would of rather paid Parsons that money than pay Prescot that money

And have who at QB? Man, Micah is WAY more expendable than Dak in this NFL.

Not sure about this trade yet (but so far, im fine with it). But you cant drag a QB into the conversation.

Hey, maybe they can package some of thise firsts into a top 5 next year in a great QB class? Assuming they don't get too 5 all on their own, of course

Bill Barnwell
@billbarnwell

Over the last four years, the Cowboys are the league's best defense with Micah Parsons on the field by EPA per play.

Across a 1,039-play sample, they're the league's second-worst defense over that same stretch by EPA per play when Parsons isn't on the field.

Not a useless stat, but has anyone said what they were last year?

Parsons will not be worth that contract.

Not siding with Jerrah but GB is going to regret that trade.

Agreed. Packers think they are good enough to win the super bowl before they have to pay other important players but they aren't.

I’m a Saints fan… with that said.., the Packers ain’t what the Cowboys is… that won’t change even if the Packers win 10 Super Bowls straight… Micah message to the fans says as much

A QB isn’t just a QB, it’s their salary relative to their performance.

You clearly think Dak is worth his salary.

I don’t.

I’d rather build it around a young QB that gives me cap flexibility than be saddled with a middling aging mobile QB with a big contract.

EPA
Not a particularly meaningful statistic for individual players

Far inferior to actual production on quality competition and ye old eye test

Pretending he's even in Tier 1 at his position is embarassing, we don't need to get THAT delusional

What sort of performance would possibly make that contract worth it for the Packers? Super Bowl win? Multiple? That really isn't out of the realm of possibility if the Packers offense and primarily Jordan Love are to up their game. If the Packers are arse on offense and he is busting his arse bailing them out then he could become a malcontent again.

Either way someone got their feelings hurt between Jerry and Micah.
