No because it’s a fruitless excercise. Neither of us know what he’s currently asking for or what’s going on at the negotiation table, nor do we or would we know what they would hypothetically get or not get in a years time. It’s all guess work
Then the entire conversation is fruitless.

But the concept of leverage, which you seem to understand, is something we can point to as to when the deal is most advantageous for both sides. Both sides are balancing risk/reward, for the team, if they think he’s an all pro, then that risk and reward is had sooner rather than later.
The deal isn't most advantageous to the Cowboys to do now if Micah Parsons is demanding absolute top dollar (whatever that is). It's the reason Chase didn't get a new contract with two years left.

Dallas screwed around and let the Dak negotiations linger instead of paying him $40 million a year they ended up paying him $60 million a year

Oof. You knew this was coming after that Jerry Jones interview.

What would a realistic trade package even look like for him?

So many jorts are about to be burned

lol WTF? If that story is true the Jones family is fricking insane thinking they can try to go around a player's agent for a negotiation like that.

Florio has been beating on this over and over -- he says the Cowboys always mess around and pay more later.
100%. They could have locked in Dak for way cheaper on both his last deals but they consistently kick the can down the road only for it to always bite them in the arse.

This thread is way funnier than I thought it was going to be

I know the board mostly sides with the players but something needs to be done about players under contract asking for trade requests because they want more money.
You signed the contract and agreed to the terms.
You have guys halfway into deals throwing fits because they want more money.

Well you also have owners trying to void guaranteed money for crazy shite. Neither party acts in good faith

There needs to be a hostile takeover of the Dallas Cowboys. Get it tf out of the Jones family’s hands. They’re all too stupid to run it.
And I’m not even a big fan of Parsons.

Until the money is guaranteed, no problem with players wanting more money

A potential trade comp for Micah Parsons: When 27-year-old Khalil Mack was traded from Oakland to Chicago, the Bears gave up two first-round picks, a third-round pick, and a sixth-round pick for Mack, a second-round pick, and a conditional fifth-round pick.
Now the 26-year-old Parsons — who is one of only two players in NFL history to register a dozen-plus sacks in each of his first four NFL seasons, along with Reggie White — has now requested a trade.

MP trade value won’t be as high as people think. The guy wants 45M and teams are ok with that but Dallas isn’t getting the haul they think they’re getting. Different story if he still had 2/3 years left on rookie deal

It’s crazy how bad Jerry Jones is at this
He should’ve been signed a year ago at 5-8 million per year cheaper than what he’s expecting now.
He did the same shite with Dak and many others.

A pretty good comparison is Khalil Mack who the Raiders got a crazy haul for

Don’t get me wrong, MP is great. I am just saying the team that gets him will have to pay a HUGE price, and that will factor in his “value”. If Dallas were smart they’d also get a couple of players
