I think Uncle Urban and some other coaches actually agreed with Harbaugh on the locker room thing, so this is not just Jim being a spaz/autist.

All of that sounds like a typical trip to most medical facilities in America

No, that's a bush league, low class athletic department right there. If I'm Michigan I lock all the doors to the visitor's locker room next year and tell Purdue to get dressed in the back of the endzone like every one did in junior high.
Seriously, have a little class about how you treat your opponents and guests to your stadium.

with the money these schools bring in there is no reason for visitors to have subterranean locker rooms anymore. you don't have to make it the hilton, but at least bring things into the 21st century.

Wonder if Bitchbough threw a fit or the parents are pissed that Michigan trainers had their son with a broken back walk off the field even though there was a ambulance parked and waiting?

Serious question, why do BOTH teams need an X-ray machine? Are they used that often? I always assumed there was 1 set of machines like that in a neutral medical area that both teams used. I mean it's not like there's a line for the X-ray during a game right?

Good on Purdue. Visiting lockers aren't supposed to nice and comfortable.

They also needed to wait for a volunteer ambulance to come get him because all of the W. Lafayette ambulances were unavailable. There's a whole host of things that make this ridiculous.
How do you not have an ambulance at every game? As someone else said, high schools have ambulances sitting at their games.

Yea purdue had no x-ray machines in the visitor lockerroom so wilton speight, with 3 fractured vertebrae, was forced to travel half a mile to the university medical plaza.
why didnt he just use the home teams locke room?

Also, purdue has no air conditioning in the visitor locker rooms
that is bulshit, i agree with JH
certainly purdue is aware of players who die every year from heat exhaustion?

You do know that the Midwest is south of the North Pole, and that temperatures in the first month of the season are often in the 80s and 90s, yes?

I went to a Big Ten school. There is plenty of air conditioning all over the place. We are not Finland for God's sakes. And you would use the AC until early October.

I'd much rather be there than in a fricking locker room! That half mile, It must have taken at least a minute to drive there.

Student health center does not equal a trauma hospital. They are there to give penicillin shots to kids that made bad decisions, not treat injured football players.

Denny Miller, the former head trainer of Purdue would never allowed this to happen. Sounds like Purdue's athletic training department and medical coverage arrangements are a cluster at Purdue. What an embarrassment.

Far from a hospital. It is a student health center. It is basically a clinic. Trust me, I've worked in the building. It is not equipped to deal with trauma/serious injuries.
